Runes: when is the stock refilled? (Question for Anet)

We know that since last weeks patch there was a run on superior monk runes. The trader continues to tell that the runes just ran out of stock. After about 30 seconds his stock SEEMS to be renewed. Now I cant imagine that real players sell a rune to the runetrader at exact the same intervals of like 30 seconds, so I assume the GW program refills the stock. But the rune I try to buy (Monk superiour rune of smiting) will still 'ran just out of stock'. I don't believe that players are trying to buy those runes all day long, and, at the same time, I'm the unlucky one who just misses it when I click on it. So what I would like to know:
-When after like 30 seconds the stock seems to be refilled, is it really refilled?
-If it is, where did the rune come from (player or program)?
-If its not, why do the runes than show up again?

Runes might be sold at such an interval, but the frequency that you say might actually be longer. It probably takes a little bit for runes to propogate through the system and be available to everyone.

Though I don't think ANET will tell you when they restock items, else everyone will be on at that very moment. Though by pattern you might be on Thursday or Friday evening.

I'd say thats exactly what is happening - haven't you ever wondered why there's usually players hanging constently by the rune trader's? I've seen the same people by the rune traders hour after hour... and why? They are trying to make sure that the rune trader doesn't have any runes... so as to force players to buy from them if they want runes..

*shrugs* ANet doesn't renew the trader stock - the trader's only get re-stocked when players sell the runes to the traders. Problem then is the rune-trader campers buy them as soon as they come available.. thus deny'ing ordinary players access to the runes (which is the real reason they complained about the patch anyways).

Thing is.. if anet stipulated a set routine for renewing trader stocks... the trader's still would be out-of-stock purely because players would camp the traders at that time and buy out the trader's... *shrugs*

Sure the patch dropped the prices... but low prices are pointless if no-one can buy them...

I am one of those who have camped out at the rune trader for long stretches of time, but not for the reason you have listed. I think it is unfair to class everyone camped out as trying to hord runes. In my case, I was camped out just to buy 1 of each. If they are not available, you have no chocie but to keep trying, which takes time, or buy from a real player < more expensive >.

There are already current threads discussing runes. If you want direct answers from ANet, your best bet is to try to get in contact with them by e-mail or find a thread aimed just at asking them questions (if one still exists) or even add on to one of the current rune threads. Many would probably like the answers to these questions, but keeping them here is just spamming Q&A with discussion.
