Just my opinion on what I hope to see for the update.

1) MORE THAN JUST EXPLORABLE AREAS! If its just something you'll be done with 30-60 minutes then its not really worth your time.

2) Possibly Activating some of the deactivated armors i keep hearing about?

3) maybe 1-2 new weapon styles of each weapon? (sword, hammer, staff, etc.)

4) New monsters, dont feel like running in their if its all just stone summit, which it looks like from the pictures so far.

5) Wasnt it actually 2 new explorable areas instead of just sorrows furnace? I cant remember.

6) Maybe something actually worth going there for, like how UW has the spider pet and FoW has Fissure Armorsmith, maybe like a..... Uber weapon smith, maybe he'll sell like..... fissure weapons?

7) other hopes to be added.

Don't get your hopes up, the summer update probably will not have all that you mentioned.

I think alot of people are expecting too much from the summer update. It's going to be an area that gets uber farmed for it's nice drops for about 48 hours then it'll be nerfed to hell and be as useless as the rest of the GW World. People will then begin to explore it and realize that graphically it's far superior to the rest of the game...but there's nothing to do.

LOL, not a cynical at all. But probably true, although I strongly suspect there will be more quests added for ascended characters, hopefully they will be spread out. More than likely throughout the southern shiverpeaks.
I would hope for a min of 10 more quest, but time will tell. With a few that are repeatable.

They said they are adding new weapon skins. The two areas are Grenth's Footprint and sorrow's furnace.

Getting bored, take a break for a few weeks/months Then you'll come back, find a bunch of new content, bug fixes, etc and you won't have to deal with the people whining about area X been nerfed 3 days after it was released even though they haven't actually explored it yet and are just repeating adnauseum what someone else has said without backing it up.

We can, but we choose not to and reserve the right to tell people to use the search button to find out why we don't as many other clueless individuals have said it.

ArenaNet has been busting its BALLS trying to make this game as interesting, exciting, and set apart from the veritable FLOOD of me-too crap, and so many people seem so...ungrateful for their hard work. For me, I have a simple solution that many whiners and bitchers hate to hear: If you think the game is so terribly BORING, then what the hell are you doing there? Leave. If you do not leave, then your comments could not POSSIBLY have a constructive purpose, and serve only in gaining attention you otherwise never receive.

I care not what anyone responds to me with, this has to be the single most blatantly USELESS and Guild Wars Bashing comment I have seen on this or any other 'community' site.

What the hell is this site coming to, when wastes of space such as this remain here, uncontested and undeleted?

This sucks!

Please go read the news blurbs and posts made by Gaile Gray in other VERY SIMILAR threads.. They pretty much cover whats going to be in the summer update. There will be 2 new explorables added. More ascended content. New monsters (watch the preview videos). More quests, et cetera ad infinitum. Use the search button my friends. Visit www.guildwars.com. The information is all out there with a few exceptions of the sneaky secrets that A.net is keeping under wraps.

1) nope
2) have no idea what your talking about unless you mean the skins for the 15k armor
3) yes there are supposed to be new weapons
4) new monsters have been confirmed. I hope to see that robot in the preview video
5) Grenth's Footprint and Sorrow's Furnace
6) Don't believe so although there are supposed to be new high end quests
7) We'll have to wait and see

GW's updates thus far have been solid (minus the latest economy update, could have done that one better). But its by far not the worst update in the MMO world..

...no, the worst one ever was Trammel in another game. If you know what I speak of, you probably will shed a tear in memory as I have.

Yeah, it'd be great if everyone annoyed with the game left. That'd leave a few dozen fanboys around. People post their annoyances because they are legitimate and represent the way large groups of people feel about the game. Some of us have played through every beta weekend and would like to see what the game was meant to be. ANet is working hard, true, but they are doing it to make money - to keep people interested long enough to buy a now-delayed expansion and to solve gigantic play issues that really do affect enjoyment. They are trying to appeal to a PvP mindset and a PvE mindset at the same time and it is not an easy task. I suspect they are failing - the true PvP types are getting tired of it, and the PvE isn't as large as other games.

I happen to like GW, and I am not done my run in it, but I can see why people leave, and I can see plenty of things that need improving. Acting like ANet is doing it out of love for us and in an act of kindness is ludicrous - they are doing it to try to ensure that people stick around to buy the next installment. Yeah, they might want us happy, but at another level it is about sales. Happy folks buy more games, and recommend that their friends join in. I'm not thrilled with the directions GW has been going, but we'll see what happens.

Some people are familiar with the open ended developmental nature of the game, and realize you can make suggestions to the developers. Not constructive? Apparently your definition of constructive is "circle jerk" whereas most people's is, "new ideas".

Constructive Critcism would be from a source that intends to see its suggestion at least implemented, rather than attack and bad mouth the company of a game that the person obviously said with their own mouth "has nothing for them to do".
