So I've been hearing about this game, but haven't had much of an opportunity to find out about it. As far as I can see, especially through Screenshots, theres nothing featured besides PvP. I have heard hardly anything about a PvE quest system, or how much value there is to the game itself. No disrespect intended, since I'm very uninformed currently, but I have the impression it's like Halo was to most players. They didn't give a damn, and wen't strait to the PvP, rather than play through the Campaign. As an avid MMORPG player, I would appreciate any information about this game that you can provide from your (the player) point of view. Is this game anything like past MMORPG's? Will it have level grinding, quests, etc? Take Dark Age of Camelot for example. Take away the PvE (leveling, quests, dungeons), and leave the old Emain. Thats what I see when I look at guild wars. I know this can't be right. Please, if you could provide some insight, I'll be checking in frequently.

GW is built around PvP mainly, but it has some very detailed and amazing quests/missions you can do. However, if you're more into traditional MMORPG's with the level grinding and all, this game may not be for you. It's based around skill and not how high level you are. The level cap is 20 which keeps pretty much everyone on a level playing field. You'll probably have to decide for yourself.

There is plenty of PVE in GW to keep you playing for a long long time. And when they release expanions, even more PVE. This is not PVP game, though it does seem like it, but there is plenty for the PVE player aswell.

I'm actually a PvE player and I like this game. They talk about the PvP because of how different it is from other games (I wouldn't know myself) You will reach level 20 loooooong before you run out of PvE content. There were about 13 out of 25 missions and only about 1/2 the quests implemented for Beta play and people had no problem getting to level 20 and most still had things to do and new areas to explore. Of course we were only allowed to play for 3 days at a time but now with the release we have all the time in the world to explore all the nooks and crannies. I suggest you have a look at the maps created by Moomanibe of the areas available in the betas. Lots to do!

Well I and most of my guildmates are going to be PvE based characters and I can pass on to you that after playing in all, what 5 or 6 Beta events and not even comming close to all the areas that were available to us and knowing that they had only made about 60% of the game open to us, WOW and EQ are distant memories! I have YET to step foot into a PvP arena and I have sold ALL my other games and look forward to spending many months covering all there is to find in the Missions, Quests, and explorable ares that this game has to offer.
