There is a new segment of lore on the Guild Wars page hinting at Grenth's Footprint and its cave Sorrows Furnace!

Hmm . . . So much speculation does this lore add. Whitman's Folly, Tasca's Demise . . . interesting. This makes me jumpy, why dost thou tempt me?

Why do I have a feeling suddenly that the new areas are literally right around the corner?

Why does the Dwarf in the Lore talk with a Scottish accent while all the others are Russian?

You cant really apply the nationalities of the guildwars lore to real life but if you did it would be like- The Ascalonians- Europeans | Dwarves-Norsemen | Krytans- Africans |
Orrians- Portugese (judging by that vazier).

Anyway, this gives a little backround check on the two zones of Tyria (adds it to his lore), oh and Cynn continues to prove that she's a stubborn lady and always be one :P

I'm into Warcraft lore, but not GW lore... I haven't tried yet to be honest, but what I liked about Warcraft lore was that it played out over the video games, you weren't just given an entire backstory, you CREATED the backstory, you were just given some simple plot items (Orcs, Medivh, etc.). Not only that, but the journal-entry style in the WCI booklet for explaining the plot was badass and well done.

It was put this way Ascalonians are Americans on the servers which means Canada,US.NZ and Australia the Krytans are Korea and Orrian or European.

I liked that piece, too. I thought Jess did a great job of presenting the appetizers without quite letting us get a nibble. Darn him, huh?

I really love how thought out everything is. The new areas don't just feel like they are thrown in to please the whiners. I can't wait to go exploring!

More places for me to run to and charge extravagantly high prices for? Can't wait.

LOL, you won't believe how many people wanted to be run to Port Sledge because they heard rumors of the boat taking you to the new areas would be there. Woo hoo, more gold for me.

Ye olde England.

From the sounds of things, people may be able to actually go to and explore the rift, without being in the tournament, possible could be the new UW/FoW style area for Sorrow's Furnace Complection. I think its time to also explore Whitmans Folly and Tascas Demise a bit, make sure its all mapped out.

EDIT: I just had a thought, Tascas Demise (being one of the places linked to the story line) leads to Mineral Springs as most people know, but at the very end of Mineral Springs in the Ice cave (if you manage to get in past the huge mobs) is a statue of Lysaa, then further down is the Eliodon and a Seer. But next to the staue there are two portals, when I first saw them I thought they may be linked somehow to a new area....this may be somehow linked to one of the new areas. I've added screen shots so people know what I mean.

I thought the same thing about Tasca's Demise. I have it all mapped too, heh.

Well if that's true they're going to have to have a outpost to go too, since getting there will be a nightmare, Mineral springs is near impossible to get around in safely.

"Marshall Tasca?" interrupted Aidan. He knew well the tales of the intrepid explorer. A man said to be impossible to kill, Tasca was reputed to have survived avalanches, locust swarms, and the occasional wummpus stampede.

There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Solo "explorers"(some people call them farmers) are part of the games lore.

Uhh, no. Solo explorers know when to avoid a fight (when ever possible), farmers just understand the words, kill, maim, destroy, squish. Retreat, stealth, sneak are foreign concepts to them

As for summer being over in 2 weeks. You may want to check your calendar, according to mine, we've got 5 more weeks till the autumn equinox (sept 22)

corax, I'm dissapointed! You mention the portals but give no mention of trying them and getting teleported somewhere or have nothing happen. Think of your fellow farm--erm... explorers!

Last time I was in the area, trying to capture Shield of Judgement, I was lured to the portals by their humming. Nothing happens when you aproach them though....

I've seen screen shots of the Frog talking in LA.

We will know more about the update withing a "fortnight". Now either the developers ARE as dumb as I think they are and just though fortnight sounded like a cool old english word to use...or we have about 14 days before there is even another mention of the update.

I've also been told that the frog said something about the update being here before the Equinox...which we should all know is September 22nd.

Honestly. I think I'd shit myself if the update is here before September 21st. I love Guild Wars...but the developers get 1.5 thumbs down for business practice and development scoping.

Impossible to kill, survived stampedes?
Sounds a lot like a 55hp monk to me. They're almost impossible to kill, in the UW anyway, and they survive stampedes of Aatxes and swarms of Grasping Darknesses...

Maybe there wil be a new skill - "Crooked Arrow". And pit traps and giant bats! Or maybe I'm the only one who finds it humorous that they've got a wuumpus.
