I searched, but 'key' and 'buy' are too short.

My friend is on IM with me right now. He's already downloaded the client from the main site. Where can he go online to buy the CD key so he can play right now instead of going to a store and getting an actual boxed game?

You can do it right inside the game. Just takes you to the NCSoft website.

Just follow the prompts in game after clicking "create account"

what you're paying for is the game itself. There's an online manual here, and the CD's are basicly worthless as you can download the client as many times as you'd like.

As far as getting it cheaper, try e-bay. There *may* be some crazy WoW player who thinks he's got the better game

Thats like mailing someone fruit.. If you mail just some fruit they'll think your crazy. But if you jazz it up and add a basket and some flowers.. They'll think its nice. But it costs more.

Don't buy online

Online costs $50 and doesn't even give a box.
Retail costs $32 and gives you everything.

You'll be ripping yourself off if you did.

Ya, unless you live in a country that does not have it retail.
Like South Africa for instance.

The only downside I have found with buying it online is that you need to download a lot of files when you enter an area you have not been too yet, this can make your group a bit impatient. What I do is enter each mission alone once before finding a group to play it with.

It is nice to be able to get the game in this country (we can't get most of them) but the price could stand to reflect the lack of anything else with it.

That happens even if you bought it in a store. Dont ask why, it just happens like that.

Its like Half Life 2 (im sure almost everyone here brought that game) you get either the CD or DVD but you actually have to go online and download (or unlock) the rest of the game.. which make the disc kind of useless

and DarkSci how did you get Guild Wars at retail store for $32 dollar??

I bought my wifes key on-line, through the ncsoft website. I already had a boxed copy of the game.

I did it because:

1.) I approve of the concept.
2.) Didnt want to chop down a tree for the box and the drive to the store.
3.) Wanted to play with her "right now".
4.) Was too lazy to drive out and find it. (after a major, unsuccessful WoW treasure hunt in January)

I am a very satisfied customer.

Cheers,
