Luck of the draw, man... it sucks but nothing you can do about it...
Besides, can't ALWAYS get the good items when you salvage. There has to be some element of chance.

definatly luck of the draw. I identified a bow that was two items, a bow shaft of something + health and an ice bow string. It all turned into 2 wooden planks. Happens all the time... just how it is.

18 wood @ 10g a peice =180g nearly half way there to the price of a new Expert salvage kit :-) seems yours is faulty

They should make a new kit that makes it so you can choose what you want to get out of it. make it cost quite a bit. I mean if its an expert then you would expect that you would be able to choose what you want to keep from an item. Then just make it chance of weather you are successful or not.
