This extra damage is added into the base damage of the attack right? Not like Conjure Element or an Order? Armor penetration is calculated after this damage is added to the attack?

Hmmm... Tried to make use of this and managed to get it to +7 damage without compromising too much of my other warrior skills. Even when used with Frenzy and Flurry, I was not impressed. Maybe I was expecting too much from it or too used to seeing big chunks of health disappearing from a foe...

It's hardly noticeable on low AL targets, but will make up a huge portion of your damage on high AL targets, along with your attack skills.
