Reward for reaching rank 1 on Guild Ladder

Why is there no reward for reaching Rank 1 on the Guild Wars Ladder? You have to go through a lot of battles to get to rank 1. You have to beat a lot of great teams. At the very least you should get to be the guild of the weak. Maybe get an uber weapon or armor? Some other item?

the reward is being the best. or at least saying you are.

Agreed SlY, but this is a materialistic world and the subtle rewards are lost on most people.

I think whoever is in numberone spot should get a really good guildhall that looks godly and has merchants and storage in it.

You get bragging rights. There is no better reward then bragging rights.

For what reason did the Fianna, IVEX, and Dynasty Warriors guilds get to submit templates to be available for pre-made characters?
I had thought it was because they were top guilds at the time, and their builds would be cycled out as other guilds moved to the top and got to submit their own, but that's obviously not the case, since it's been a couple of months.

Either they got to make the templates for another reason, or ANET forgot.

In one of the Fansite Fridays, I remember something about the top guilds getting to determine things about the world behind the scenes, and the Favour of the Gods was one aspect of it implemented; But that's not actually a guild thing, inherently. Then, they added in those templates, and I thought they had covered both aspects.

But that hasn't been changed since the game's release, so who knows?

They were allowed to make templates because they were the top 3 guilds after the last BWE.
