I'm trying to buy a crude shield with 16 armor rating, req. 8 (I think) tactics. It also has -2 damage while enchanted and +43 health while enchanted.
I'd like to know how much this kind of shield would be worth before I throw my life savings at it, so I'd really appreciate any and all figures. Thanks in advance guys for the help.

If you don't want to use your life savings, simple decide to use some stances and get the collector's shield outside of rankors. It'll cost you 5 frosted griffin wings. The shield has +45 health while in stance, and -2 damage while in stance. Max defense, 9 tactics.

There's also a Enchanted version of the shield somewhere. Don't spend money on something like that.

There isn't a collector's version of the shield with 'while enchanted', otherwise it wouldn't be worth so much. D:

there is a collector's shield with while enchanted
it is also a crimson shield
but however, i think it's armor 12 only.
but hey, i'd go for the one with only 12 armor if it looks exactly the same as a crude shield :P

Actually, the shield you are bidding on is worth easily hundreds of plat. The double enchanted mods are the very best, and if you or your party run enchantments, it is the way to go. I have had offers in the seven figures for my flawless tall shield (16/45/-2) enchanted.

One of the things that drives the price of shields up is the look.
Crude shields are just plain ugly. I'd rather use a buckler than a crude shield any day, but that's my opinion.
Also, perfect items are worth way more than imperfect items in this game. The 2 hp away from max makes a huge dent in the price.

I saw this guy last night as well. I seriously doubt someone would pay 100K + 17 ecto for it. He was spamming "c/o 100K + 17 ecto" for a least an hour, do I tend to lean towards the idea that he was bluffing. Its a Crude Shield... not a Tall Shield... and its not perfect.

i sold a defender req 10 with +39 hp while enchanted and -2 dmg while enchanted for 250k + 21ecto before.

Yeah, strength based shields usually go for around double what the tactics shields can fetch.
And frankly, none of the strength based shields look all that bad.

Thanks for all of the advice guys, I'll definetly think twice about buying it now. Yes, it must have been the same guy that you guys all saw in LA since the price is about right; although the offer was in gold before. I have never seen a crude shield before, nor did I know that there is a collector who offers a (somewhat) similar one. I really appreciate the help, everyone, when I see something I like, I'm usually too impulsive to get a good deal, but in this case I believe you guys probably saved me a lot of money. Thanks again
