I was just in the FoW today and we just started when the leader aggrod both mobs on either side, natually, the monks died from 4 Fireballs from the Eles, so I was out, by then we had killed most of them, only 3 baddies were alive but we only had like 2 warriors and a E/Mo still alive.
Then we noticed there was a Shard drop for me and the other monk!
Aaaand.. the warriors didn't have res, so we were stuck dead, and I wanted my shard. Here's waht happend:
Now.. can this be addressed so I get my shard back? Cause in my book, this is worse than being scammed.

Err, if the drops never went public then no one would have gotten the shards since no one had rez. That's one reason among many.

It's... an Obsidian Shard. What is that, five thousand gold? I could understand the outrage if you'd been cheated out of three Celestial Sigils by Edge of Extinction, but forgive me for not caring if you got gipped out of a meagre 5k. I don't think NCSoft will care much for your loss, either. Rather, I think they'll print out your complaint and pass it around the office, the customer support reps nourishing themselves by pressing the paper against their skin, hoping to absorb the raw human anguish within.

Try going in with a mission assassin who gets you all killed on purpose JUST to scoop the drops ?....seen a few of those.

If a gold max damage item dropped in UW and you were in my party, and you died, and I waited for it to become public, then took it, I doubt you'd be very happy either. It's just like stealing out from under someone's nose, you just don't do it.

I've been in a similar situation with a glob of Ectoplasm in the Underworld. Fortunately, my team chose to res me, so I was able to collect.
There's also been a post here where a ranged attack through a wall dropped some Ecto for a player who was unable to get access, and had to leave it.
Then the absolute worst, where you get a drop (Obsidian, Ecto, Gold Max Dmg etc.), but your team dies before anyone can res you.
It happens. Move on.

Everything that drops for any person (ie: is still says "For Carinae Dragonblood") should go into a Unclaimed Items box if you leave the mission.
So, in this case if you got a great drop and you were dead, you would have to leave the party to guarantee that you'd get the drop.

I do have to say if that stuff happened in real life. I wouldnt leave the house without a firearm.
Yesterday A monk went AFK in our UW group and just before our spider capper could cap the spider, the monk came back, grabbed the escort new souls quest, got them killed, then left.
Take my advice, before going into UW or FoW, grab as many friends and guildies as you can. Because the people hanging around the ToA are not good, like PvPers they are.
And to all you saying this is nothing because shards are worth nothing. The people stealing things worth nothing would be twice as bad.

Now, maybe if you had tripped and fallen on the street, dropped your wallet just in front of you, and had a piano fall on you.. Then some random comes along, decides to take your wallet and walk off.. THEN I'd care. It's pixels. i dont agree at all that he deserved it, as he didnt do anything stupid or wrong... but i do think that getting worked up over it isnt the right way to go about it. the other guy didnt do anything "wrong". i think what he did is crappy, but he broke no rules established by the powers that be.
things like that make me miss playing shadowbane.... someone does that to you, you just go gank them and thier guildmates for fun. if they really piss you off, you wipe thier city off the face of the map.

im still convinced that the mechanics and concepts for shadowbane are the best ive ever seen for a game... now if only thier engine didnt have holes big enough to walk through, and was generally a bug ridden piece of crap! ah well, heres hoping for shadowbane 2 <crosses fingers>
