With the whole PvP/PvE unlocking thing... if a character unlocks an item/skill in PvE, can any of your PvP characters use that item/skill? I've going to generate my first PvP only tonight, just wondering what to expect.

Thanks in advance, and love your healing monks.

Anything that you unlock in PvE can be used in PvP, Runes, Skills, and Weapon Upgrades.

Oh good, so it's not character specific.

Thanks greatly.

1000? Really?

Wow, my collective 87 faction won't go too far just yet, will it? Of course, I've only been in a handful of matches with PvE characters, so it's time to try crossing to the dark side.

Any time you see the Unlock Box appear (skills, weapon mods, runes) you've unlocked it across your account.

Note that unlocking at a Priest of Balthazar will not do anything for your PVE character, though you are required to use a PVE character to talk to the Priest.

I find that as a casual PvPer, unlocking item mods and maybe runes is the only way to go, especially if the arenas is your primary source of faction. In less than half the time I take to get 1000 faction to unlock a skill, I can grind out the skillpoint and the cash necessary to buy it. For runes, a week of so of Riverside farming helps unlock a lot. For items though, its way worth it to use faction to unlock, since getting the mods you want for PvP are well-nigh impossible even if you farm heavily.

Wait a second... you still have to choose professions, right, and only use the skills for that profession? For instance, you can't create a custom character and have Life Siphon, Conjure Phantasm, Apply Poison, Bull Strike, all at the same time on your skill bar, right?

PvP char is just a char that's lvl 20. So yes, Sofonisba, you skill have to choose profession.

Actually it can be more than that though most skills (except elites) cost 1000 faction to unlock as do minor runes. Major runes cost 1500 faction and I *think* superior runes are 2000 (though I've never checked). All elite spells cost 3000 faction so basically leave spells to be unlocked through quests and skill trainers and use factions for weapon mods and such.
