Over the years of gaming for me, everyone has had their little tips for helping their PC run games (Besides overclocking), and I thought it would be a great idea to post some of your tips here. Ill start it off:

1. Clean the dust out of your PC. Dust generates static electricity that can cuase problems for your PC.

2. Hit Ctrl + Alt + Del click Processes (This is how you locate it on WinXP) and click Explorer.exe(Icons and start bar on your desktop), and then End Task. Explorer takes up quite a bit of memory usage among the programs you have running. To open it back up, hit Ctrl + Alt + Del and go to Processes -> File -> Run (Again, WinXP) and type in Explorer.exe. To navagate through your windows open, hold Alt + Tab, and a window should pop up showing what windows you have open. To select icons on the list, hit tab to cycle through the icons.

Hope that helps out a little.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to tell people to disable explorer.exe. It can cause problems.

This is a good guide to things that you CAN disable:

also this

Of course you play with these settings at your own risk, etc..

Or u could get a program called enditall2. It is a great program for closing programs that u dont need running. It locks the ones that u need so u dont worry about closing something that u shouldn't. Also u can lock and unlock any other program that u want to stay running. Do a search on google last time I heard they stopped making it. If u need it I can send it over. It is freeware so no money to spend.
