Fubar121, your rate of income will increase as you go further into the game, so don't let the fact that you only have 4k now get you down. I was much like you, then at a certain point I noticed that I was accumulating gold at a rate I'd never have thought possible (and not by farming, just by playing). Now I've bought my Droknar's Forge armor and have about 50 plat saved up (thinking of buying a superior vigor rune, but no hurry).

Assuming you don't want to buy the 'ego' armor you really don't need large sums of gold for many things in GWars. Superior Vigor, Superior Absorbtion, and because of the run on monks lately any Superior monk rune. But...you can settle for Major in every situation (except creating a 105/55 build) and do just fine while you wait for the extra gold to pile up for Superior Vigor/whatever.

Of course, if you want to buy some ultra-uber weapon you'll need huge bucks, but then, you can get a weapon that will do you just fine from a collector. Ultra-uber in GWars doesn't add nearly as much power as it does in most other games. It's like going from a 5800 graphics card to a 5900, definitely better but not anything worth freaking out over.
