Farming Tips for e/mo

I got my e/mo to lvl17 2day and want to start farming.

I can deal good amounts of damage to many attackers, but I always die so fast, have you got any tips?

The earth spells Armor of Earth (yaks bend) and Ward against Melee (Ascalon Settlement) can help alot (not sure what part of the game you are in).
