Its a funny way to treat customers.. I pre ordered from EB and got the game today. Yet cannot play the thing till tommorrow. I for one am considering mailing the whole box to them and they can refund me. this is BS.

from what i heard... you should be able to...

heres the thing though .. the game hasnt come out yet...

they were just nice enough to let you get your copy early..

Everyone else read the plentiful information that said the game starts on the 28th.

I thought by pre-ording you would get early access, Probably the moron's at EB. its not the first time..

Hi,

The agme wasnt supposed to be released till the 28th. I was shocked to see it out at EB games today when i went but i got my copy whilst i could. They sold 4 more whilst i was there too, lol.

There has been a lot of confusion about the preordering. You only get early access if you aquired a preorder package, that is, a box with stuff in it, including a preorder key. If you simply ordered the game before it came out and didn't get said package then you got ripped off by the shop, not ArenaNet.
Here's an extract from the official FAQ:

I placed a preorder for Guild Wars before the preorder package was offered. Can I still get a preorder package now that it is available?

It is our intention that retailers provide a copy of the preorder package to everyone who preorders from a North American retailer. So if you preordered before the preorder package was available, you should be able to visit the retailer, show your receipt, and receive a free copy of the preorder package, providing you paid a sufficient deposit. In other words, if the retailer is asking $10 deposit in order to receive the preorder package and you placed a deposit of at least $10, you should obtain a preorder package when you present your receipt as proof of deposit.

You should have a 'key' which you scratch off to reveal the numbers on the inside cover of your CD insert. Did you buy the 0.99 Beta version or the full game at $49.99?

I've played a lot of mmorpg games (Not going to list them all) and I would have to say this is my favorite. I've played all the recent ones, however, except the city of heros or villians. I love GW and I woudln't trade it for any other mmorpg even if I didn't have to pay monthly for the mmorpg offered to me. LONG LIVE GUILDWARS!

Dont sleep! Start playing when the server goes live. Get the jump start on everyone! My first goal is to join a good guild and become famous. Everyone will be rooting for Raganorn in Guild Battles

The official website says PDT. Whatever it is, it's 3 hours and 15 minutes from now.

Hard to get the jump start when so many of us have been playing since the start of the 27th. I only played a few hours and I'm already level 5 and almost ready to go through the Academy.

Rag - Well, i think i will hang in there. Im on central time, so, i have 3 hrs to go. I slipped in Starwars Ep2 to watch on my P.C whilst trolling the Forums
