armor question

Is it better to have a set of armor that has
(armor set A)
Armor : 51
Energy Recovery +1

or is better to have

(armor set B)
Armor 45
Energy Recovery +1
Armor +15 vs Lightning



On armor set A the base armor is 51 .. is that 51 vs physical and no armor vs lightning.. or is that armor 51 vs everything (physical and magical)

Trying to figure out which way to upgrade to.

if what your fighting uses a lot of lightening based attacks (ie air elementalists, warrior's with lightening grips, rangers with lightening string, etc) then set B is going to be better for you, otherwise set A is the way to go.

If this is for PvE, then your better off going set A and getting the better all-around armor.. since you'll be facing a LOT more damage than just lightening afaik JMO tho

I don't think it matters too much what class.

Anyhow, the "base" armor rating 51/45 applies to ALL damage that is affected by armor, physical, elemental, or whatnot. The extra 15 obviously only applies to lightning. Generally, unless you're expecting to deal with a lot of lightning damage, go with the 51.

The question is clearly this:
Do I buy the Aeromancer armour, or use the higher AL collector armour?
My answer is, use the collector armour. It's better protection, almost nohting uses lightning damage, and it's a lot cheaper.

If you are buying you aren't that far off from 60 if you can access the 51 armor. You might as well wait if your an ele and save the gold.

AR is an issue sometimes, but as an ele you have to shake aggro, you are a ranged attacker. That's more important until you get into pvp or the hardest missions/areas where every little bit of an edge helps, including AR.

is it true that if armor has a bonus protection against x that it has a weakness to y? like fur-lined armor has +15 vs cold dmg, does it have a weakness to fire?
