Last night my router got fried by lightning, it took until eight PM tonight to fix it, and then it took two hours to get Guild Wars to work with it.
I'm sick and my head is about to explode, or was. I was breaking down in tears because of it and just the sheer frustration. Thanks to alot of posts in the past here, dad and I were able to fix the problem after a bit of network tweaking.
Or well, I should say last night since it was before midnight... Meh, Tues night router fried, last night game finally worked, technically... XD
Random question, WHY are capes so much to make now? It's highway robbery...
The collectors don't need as much, luckily, but most of them have junk anyway.
Love how we get items and gold for quests now, and love how we see what the items do that collectors have before we buy.
I have alot of catching up to do to my BF, i'm so tired, I need sleep, so bleh feeling and all...
God I missed my Guild Wars... *huggles it tightly* It actually helps to make me feel better :-D
Worst thing to happen before GW Early Release

Eye doctor, eh?
Reminds me of a joke:
Man I had a bad day today. I got up in the morning, and the button fell off of my jacket. Picked up my briefcase and the handle fell off. Went to the door and the doorknob fell off.
I'm afraid to take a pee.

I have an interesting story to share. It's not as bad as yours though, but it's interesting.
I pre-ordered GW about a couple of months ago from Gamestop. They told me that it would arrive on April 26. The web site also said that the release date was April 26. I used my lunch hour from work to drive over to Gamestop and pick up the game on April 26. When I arrived, the cashier told me that all Gamestops had a problem with their distributor and did not receive any GW games. So, my pre-ordered game had not arrived.
Please keep in mind that I am a hardcore World of Warcraft player and could not wait to dive into Guild Wars, especially since they had some former Blizzard staff working on the game. I was very excited so to hear that the game had not arrived when it was supposed to was a huge let down. But it's pretty normal for shipments to not arrive on time so that's not the bad part.
I asked the cashier of Gamestop, "Is the problem with the distributor only related to your particular store or all Gamestop stores?" He replied, "It happened to all Gamestop stores. But if you want to cancel your pre-order, I'll be happy to give you your money back. I'm pretty sure you can find it at other stores. In fact, that's probably what I'm going to do because I really wanted to play the game tonight."
So, I thought, "You know, he's right. If the problem was only with Gamestop, and the web site did say that the release date was April 26, then I should be able to find the game at Best Buy or somewhere else." So, I happily canceled my pre-order, got my money back, and drove over to the nearest Best Buy. Guess what, the game was not there. I drove to Comp-USA and no game there either. I drove to Wal-Mart and no game. I then went back to work and checked the web sites for all of these stores. They all said that the release date was April 26. So, I sat there very confused. They say the release date is April 26 but no stores in town have the game? I thought, "Is it possible that this 'distributor problem' happened to all stores?"
So, April 26 came and went and no game to play. It's now April 27 and the automated voice thing for Gamestop calls me and says they received their shipment of GW games. My first thought was "Crap!! I gave up my pre-order!!" So, I called and spoke with the store manager at Gamestop, explained what happened, and he set a copy of GW aside for me. I was very excited that I ran over to pick it up. When I got home last night, I could not wait to log on and play.
I installed GW and the log on screen appeared. I went through the setup for my character and entered my license key. I then logged on with my new account and all I got was the "please add license key" screen. Every time I retyped the key, it said that I was entering a key that had already been registered. I thought, "Well this is crap. I got the game, installed it, setup my account, and now I can't log on to play." So, I went to the GW web site. They said that the servers would not be accessible until 12am April 28. I thought, "Why in the world would any company release a game to pre-order customers and not have the server up so they can play it when they get home??" I was frustrated. But, luckily I had had a tough day at work so I was tired. I went to bed, woke up this morning (April 28), and played a little before work. I'm finally in the game!!

You should have typed your pre-order key. The ship date on the game was April 26, in-store arrival date was April 27. The websites state in very small print that they are posting the ship date. Thankfully most stores have the arrival date but usually 48hrs before shipping the title will drop off the "coming soon" list at the store.
Well... how does having dial-up and the store where I pre-ordered it from didn't get their shipment yesterday sound for a sob story? I had a pre-order code too .
