New area: Ruin of Orr
Halmyr
If you read the manuel, it says that orr was destroy by the dark scroll open by the adviser of the king of Orr, so most likly, all undead where cytizene of Orr. Also it say the the whole city sunk under water, but some part survie and are now full of undead. So why not be able to explore it.
This area would only be availble on the map once you have complete the game and a fee of 1000gp would have to be paid to enter it. The area to enter would be an old port, and the door to the city is garded by a phantom, sort of like the voice of greath, and would only allow you to explore when you paid the fee.
The map it self would be explorable even without favor, but some area would't. Has you xeplore further and fursther it would become increas in difficulty, so early on only lvl 11 ghouls and the sort while later on undead has powerfull has Fow would be there. This was a city of the gods, so magic must a been important, so stone, steel golem must have bee a comon thing to defend home and country.
This is the one thing that would make the City of Orr a clear challenge, TO be able to enter the royal palace, but this will not be a 1 trip quest.
For it you will have to find 6 adviser, each with one key to the palace.
After the lich was destroy, the other vizier woke up, sort of out a trance the lich put then in to be able to complete the prohecy. All would be hiden inside the city has 6 boss, all lvl 30 or so. They all wwould be hiden in dungeons that you must explore. If you can find 1 of them and defeat him, he will drop 1 key and a chest will apear, with 1 (minimue purlpe item) for each member.
Sometime dungeons will be a simple chamber with a simple boss and a small reward, but other time it will be massive, with many boss and greater reward.
If 1 player is capable of having all 6 key, he can go to the royale palace where inside, beter itme will drop, and some itme you can not get any where else will drop, so a rare sword inside will be more likly to drop with incredble mods the 1 else where. Also item like eternal sword could drop, but only inside the palace.
So in here exploration will have a greater reward. Monster in here will be smarter, so more rounded group so no 1 will be able to solo, ony well rounded group will be able to survive, putting mesmer, necro and ranger a greater place, brute force will not always work.
Pls coment on this, fell free to had Idea, this is just a sugestion to had atleats some fun for exploration, and putting more class into perspective. its a bit ruff, but thats how many start out right.

Druids Arrow
I'm not entirely sure about this, so forgive me for sounding like a dumbass, but isn't Orr the Underworld?
prowler
I don't think so. But mabye FoW is orr. underworld is an underworld not Orr
Halmyr
From what I know Fissure is kinda the kingdome of Balthazar and UW is the kingdome of Grenth, will have to check up on that
Druids Arrow
Sorry if I'm mistaken, but Orr was destroyed by (I won't say his name in case I spoil the enjoyment of the game for some people), and in the manuscripts it says that he was the only survivor. Now the people from Orr are the Undead, correct me if I'm wrong. So wouldn't that mean the Underworld is Orr? I'm not entirely sure of this so again I say forgive me if I sound like a dumbass.
Halmyr
Its okay the manuel is quit confusing on that, but from what I was able to read, gather knolewge on, Orr was destroy by You-know-who and the city sunk, but from what I read, part of teh city are not submerge and its now roam by the dead who cannot find any peace in the otherworld
Armada Hunter
Sounds good, I don't think it will be used though.
Arthas Fireforge
if you really want to see where you are just click m FoW is in the ring of fire and i forgot where UW is
Flame
Those in the Underworld aren't the undead. Those are the dead.
If you look on your map, near the Crystal Desert, there is a peninsula. At the end there is a very distinct crater. That is Orr.

I always pictured the destroyed Orr being something like Atlantis. Maybe those scattered islands that are the remnants of the peninsula still have ruins of the old kingdom, too.
Kai Nui
A few scattered islands near where you have your guild hall isn't worth exploring.
SOT
I have never really cared much, but all of the decayed orr emblems dropped by UNDEAD might be a clue.

Ok we can argue about orr being destroyed or not, but how do you like the general idee of the area, even if it is not the destroy city of orr
Forboding Angel
umm to the op

I say drop the story of the first chapter because it's too flawed, trying to make Orr come back would take the plot of this game down (if it can get any worse). However I second the petitions for the catacombs to be opened in post searig with high level mobs, that idea seems more realistic.
Plague
I recall concept artwork of Orr depicting it as an underwater city at this point. Who's to say we won't be able to magically go underwater in a future chapter? I can just imagine an ascension/infusion style mission for that.
medikamen
why would that be? The Orrians weren't any different the other kingdoms that populate tyria, why would their city become a sanctuary?? besides the whole point of an expansion set it to get out of Tyria i believe, so bye bye Orr

Who ever said that it had to become a part of the main plot?
It could be just a branch of the story like Sorrow's Furnace is now. IT would just become a side story to explore. TO find out more of what happened to Orr and probabaly push a hint at where Chapter 2 might head or perhaps more.
Now, the catacombs thing could probabaly be done quickly and also add a branch to the storyline. And maybe a HINT at what happened to Gwen's ass. I'm all for that. BUT the Orr story is also a good idea of adding extra content to the current state of the game.

was it really necassary to resurrect a 2 month old topic just to prove a point that really doesnt need to be proven?

The Whole Idea of the post is in general, a quite good one.
For me, I'm intrigued about Orr, and would LOVE to see more involvement with Orr other then undead and items named after them, like maybe have a port or something like Pre-Searing to Post Searing for members, but make it like a port that says "So Many years before..." And it transports you to orr back when it was whole or something
But yeah, even implementing a pay thing like the UW would be fine, I just want more involvement of Orr =)

I agree that something should be definitely added in that peninsula west of the Crystal Desert called Orr, because it is a very large gap in the map. Although the manual says it was destroyed by /evilman/ in a failed attempt to destroy the Charr, I think something needs to be put there.
The idea of a port entrance to it is good, but it is supposed to have sunken far underwater...
One idea would be that something happened that made it rise up again...like an earthquake, or some God returns to Tyria and lifts it back up, or some powerful magic person. However, it would have no inhabitants. In Kryta, in D'Alessio Coast and other areas we faced the undead - they were the people of Orr that became that, led by /evilman/, and it is probable that none would have stayed in Orr. Besides, surely they drown underwater.
I don't know if the Charr invading Orr were wiped out too, but I would certainly like to fight Lvl 28 Charr someplace.
I can't think of a solution to these problems, dunno if anyone else can.

First of All: The UW is Grenth's Kingdom (For those who are dead) and FoW is Balthazar's Kingdom.
Just an idea: If Orr is 'The City Of The Gods' then surely, if it sank beneath the waves, they would protect it with a (magical) shield, to prevent it being destroyed. If you look at the location of the penninsula where Orr is; well, you could have some underground tunnels from, say, the Crystal Desert, the Sothern Shiverpeaks, and south-west Kryta.
If you don't like that, maybe the Catacombs could be opened up, but only to those who have completed the Titan Quests. The Catacombs link to the underwater country of Orr. (There could possibly be a way to get to Cantha from the Capital city [Arah] via a primitive submarine [Don't bother flaming me, the first submarine was around in the 17th century ish] this could cost 2k?). This would work well, I feel, as it did in Zelda: WW
Ideas? Suggestions?

Orr is deep under the see, only some isles reamin over the waters, and they are filled with undead...
Hm... since the thing with Abaddon... both the Orrian and Mists scepters destroyed... we could raise it from the waters.
Well, ok. DECIDED!
Get your shovels! We are taking that land back!
Ow... but first we'll have to deal with all those undead...
It would be a ice addition like Grenth's Print.

About Orr I know they will not add it in post. I have an idea. Even though they said they will not expand pre there have been a lot of requests and i bet A-Net can deny the pre players for long. My suggestion is that If they accaully decide to improve pre...PLEASE o PLEASE add Orr to pre-searing. One It expands pre so everyone is happy and 2 people can accually go to the Capital of Orr to see the lengendary town of where the gods of guild wars lived.
Halmyr
WoW, this thread, my thread, has been revived after so long
well I still stand by my idea, how bout a few more coments/suggestion before it goes back into the abyss which is the 29 pages of sardelac sanitarium.
Sorry Mithos, but of they wont expand the post, they wont expend the pre.

Hmm I think the Orr Idea would be better if it were more of a Core Exploreable area like the Underworld, or the Fissure of Woe. Make other god avatars useful. Make it something like pay avatar of dwanya 1000 Gold to get to the Ruins, with chances of expensive drops and new exciting creatures or Chests with the best drops. Not only does this satisfy that fact we will be in Orr, but it will also be used often. I can already see the 3 man groups farming that.

Orr isn't coming back from down there beneath the waves.... and I can't speak for anyone else's characters here, but mine probably couldn't survive underwater for that long.
(That said, I've managed to submerge him beneath the water on the shores around Shing Jea Island... and he didn't die nor even splutter... so maybe Chae Soon doesn't really need to breathe.)

Thanks for the coment guys
Yeah, if you look at the date, it was way back in 2005,almost 2 years ago.
Never said that, I said it was the city of the gods, because if youread the lore, expecialy the manual, it says that melendru, dwayna and baltazar lived there for some time before moving to the mist. If I remember corectly, they moved after fixing the probleme of the bloodstones.
I hope they pick my idea
That is definatly a good idea. I dont think we should use one of the avatar for this, but a core area, an elite core area with only 1 outpost to enter from.
Not like UW/FoW were its divided in three outpost
Yes the majority of Orr was sunk but not all of it, there are still some island.
A archipelego was left.
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Orr
Here it tells the story of Orr (it also says that it was not sunk completly by the end) and a map of were we think it is.

Orr is just a human kingdom on the peninsula near the Crystal Desert. On the Prophecies map, it's the scattered islands near the Desert towards the bottom of the Map. Vizhier Killbron was Orr's King assistant or something, and when teh Charr invaded Ascalon while Ascalon, Kryta and Orr were at war, Kryta retreated as did Orr, and Orr was confident in their defenses but were crushed quickly. So Vizhier used magical proportions of a forgotten scroll that has great magical abilities to push off the Charr but in return devestated the land, causing it to fall. That's why Vizhier *Prophecies Spoiler* became a lich, it's much like a curse, and so this is why he wants to take over Tyria so he can once again rebuild Orr.
Orr was basically another human kingdom, much like Kryta or Ascalon (pre-sear). I think it would be interesting to see the ruins of it all, at least that of which is still above land.
This is all that remains of Orr now.

1. Fissure is the region of the Mists that belongs to Balthazar.
2. The Underworld is a great region of the mists where the dead wicked ones dwell, the Torment is part of the Underworld.
3. Orr was almost completely destroyed, and most of its inhabitants turned into undead. The capital city, Arah, is under the water.
4. See those small archipelagos south ot Lion's Arch? Those are the remains of Orr.
So not all Orr is under the water. So you coul set sail there and see what you can get.

this is exacly wha I've been waiting for, this pretty sums up all the fighting about orr.
So for those who think my idea is no viable, well...it is!
