What's the point in playing if every time that the lava map comes around, people quit. It just doesn't make sense.

Yesterday it happened to my team five times.

One person on our team even left although TWO people on the opposing team had quit.

A moment ago, our monk left the team, which inspired the other two players to leave. I was left on my own against the enemy. It's a waste of everyones time.

Yesterday, the entire enemy team quit within ten seconds and we were left standing bored for what seemed like eternity. Free faction, yeah great, but it shouldn't be like that. It's not fun at all.

Who is to blame? It's all too easy to say "Anet, take this map out" but it's not their fault is it?
People want variety in the maps but as soon as a person doesn't like it, it becomes a case of "screw your teammates over".

If it isn't elite skills and Droknars armour in Ascalon arena, it's runners and quitters in the compettition arenas.

What is being done by ArenaNet to address this issue? It never used to be like that to my knowledge.

Something needs to be done.

In the grand scheme of problems, is waiting 4 minutes really that big of a deal?

I think people only play 4v4 to try and (a) farm faction, (b) test a build. If you're loosing by 10 you might as well drop since it will speed up (a) and if your plan was (b) then it's back to the drawing board. I personally don't drop, but I don't see it as a big deal when others do (when the game is clearly over). On the other hand, folks who drop the first time they die drive me nuts. Res sigs could easily save the day. Oh well.

Anyhow, just my thought.

Because people are so determined on winning and not having fun that instead of fighting they camp all the time.

The lava map has very little to do with what side you fight on. If you are going to win, it will happen because of the build matchups and coordination. Most of the time its better to fight on the opponent's side, because it allows you the option to pull back and recover if needed. Alternativly, if you steamroll your opponent in the initial clash, you are able to press the advantage by camping the spawn location forcing the other team into a spawn cycle. If your team dies on the other side of the map, it gives your team time to respawn before the other team comes across, if at all depending on the style of build the other team is running.

The idocy of individuals who try to fight solo on this particular map causes many headaches, but i guess survival isnt a priority for some within a match that is based on score opposed to the last man standing.
