Can anyone explain more about this skill? I know it prevents attacking, but what about spell casting.
Kuku Monk
It's been a long time since it has been cast on me, but I don't think you can do any attacks, melee or spell, while it's on you. Fuzzy memory on it though, so correct me if I'm wrong.
CKaz
both, correct
Louis Ste Colombe
Kind of depend of the spell casting...
Not sure. To be checked on occasion.
I remember I was surprised that pet attack would still work

I've had Pacificism cast on me before by one of those assorted plant creatures (the small "Aloe Seed" types; higher level ones, of course), and it didn't affect my spell casting in the least. I would, however, get the "unable to attack" message whenever I tried to use my wand. So, in my experience, it affects only weapon-based attacks, not spell-casting.

Pacifism is very usefull when you are going to attack a monk. Put it on a warrior and you are good to go.

"if he takes damage"... So does any hex disable this spell, or just ones that result in damage? what about degen spells, or conditions? what if the pacified creature sacrifices health? (not that pacifism is often used on sacrifice-health types...)

Yes plz, can someone give a difinitive answer on what breaks pacifism?
I noticed I can still cast offensive spells while I have this on me, but no physical attacks. It's great for disabling warriors/rangers, but not much else.
I'd really like to know if you can cast this on a target, and then stack DoT hex's on them, and even use spell aborters to completely lock them out.
So someone who knows, say so!

sacrifice health ==> pacifism will not end
degeneration ==> probably pacifism will not end, but not tested.
kind regards,

Pacifisme only works for melee attack, you can still use spells.
I used it all the time when my Monk gets attacked by a Warrior in PvP. It's also a good skill at the start of battle, however it's only usefull against Rangers and Warriors.

(noticed how old these posts were)I find with the addition of factions.....this is great for 4v4 PVP....explain to your team what you are doing first....spam it on those tasty sins, it totally denies them access to EVERYTHING, the best part is spamming it all match...half the time they leave cause they can't even play...this is probably one of my top 5 favourite skills if used correctly!

sapmming??? dude, if you hadn't noticed, it has a 30 sec recharge. that pretty much rules out spamming unless you wanna try some weird arcane echo/echo Mo/Me, wich costs you 50 energy (echo+arcane+3*pacifism), your elite skill and leaves little use for anything else.

Glyph of Renewal works for perma-pacifism, but you're probably better off using a Pacifism->Amity->Pacifism chain, and best off not using any of them <_<
The thing about these types of spells is that the condition is all too easily met in an unorganized team, and tend to face removal against an organized team. Meaning, it's a casual skill that doesn't work in the casual environment.
I think the implementation could have been done a bit better, though the skills in a vacuum are pretty good.

With 2 20% recharge items and 16 Protection, you can lock out a melee from doing much of anything for the majority of a match. I've used Pacifism in this manner to decent effect in RA and TA. In GvG it's not that useful, both because there's certain to be more hex removal, and the guards somewhat randomly dish damage out.
