Now, all but one of my toons has 15k armor (the other one, a female Elementalist, has beautiful Fissure armor). I have invested so much time in these toons, I could never imagine deleting them. But now a new chapter has turned in my game experience. I want to play more PvP.
I've played a lot of arenas with my RPG toons. I love to try different builds, but I"m limited by attribute refund points, and buying new runes, weapons, et cetera. I refuse to delete my RPG toons. Thus is the grind with PvP -- attribute refund points and runes. Yes, there is a grind.
So I thought up a solution to the four character limit. Add another toon. "BUT ZEHLY, ANET WILL ONLY GIVE YOU FOUR LOL!!!!111." I know that. STFU.
The fifth toon is PvP only -- in the true sense. There are (so far) two stipulations to this character slot:
- You must have filled up your other four with RPG toons. (Yes, you can still use those slots for PvP if desired);
- You may not use the fifth slot for an RPG toon.
This allows for expandability to a certain extent. It also allows for RPG lovers to progress into the unique PvP environment offered by GW. And for those of us with four RPG toons, it gives a purpose to having faction and unlocking stuff.
I find this to be a fair compromise to adding more slots. I know a concern of ANET is server storage. If you add another slot for RPG characters, it will increase the amount of storage required by up to 20%. If that slot is for PvP only, then it will not add that much, since PvP toons don't require nearly as much server-side data as an RPG toon.
What are your thoughts on this? What could be better about it? Has someone already posted it? What are the negative impacts possibly resulting from this?
