Well, ive been away for a couple of weeks, and the first thing that happens when i log on as my mesmer in the arena, is i come up against 4 rangers. qs, spirit spam, and tfcg in my face thanks a lot. ranger presence has seemingly shot up (it didnt just happen once ) in the arena, and all that stuff from tombs has made a quick transition. Going for a word healer i manage to get past qz comfortably, but still get trouble from buffed up rangers, since my teammates dont get the concept of nullifying enemy offense WHILST owning them. (mesmers especially seem to be dropping in quality -.-)

anyways, i went and skimmed through the skill listings, and a couple of skills jumped up and said 'unlock me!'.

the ones with arrows next to em are the ones im interested in, the rest is more or less null. runed to hell if expecting fertile.
word..... IS energy management. i like it that much.
orison touch signet smite hex are standard. smite over remove since under qz the recharge is only two seconds less but still got the cast buff.
mend...... cause conditions bite ass.

shields up!. theoretically, ive been using this skill for ages. tis amazing. aoe prot vs rangers. lots of armour, and evasion chance. it boggles the mind that ive only ever seen this once. in a tombs pug. at release. maybe im just unlucky. preferably in a team id have this on warriors cause theyre all adren'ing so have the 10e to spare. for now, ill keep hold onto it.

deflect arrows. never, ever ever seen this. again, am i just unlucky ?? every monk i meet happily curses rangers with whatnot, yet this skill is perfect for them. not to much downtime, and the badness that it ends when you attack is void against a monk. so what your looking at, is something that easily rivals balanced stance in pvp usefulness surely?
perhaps more, im sure there are more rangers than there are hammer warriors.

whatsmore. both stacked is 100% dodge chance. probably more effective to run them side by side, but thats just cool ^^

o yeah, and also stacked with a ward/melee or aegis is fun for all the family.

this also leads to the question.... do evaded/blocked arrows still trigger interrupts and so on? i think they dont, but itd be nice to confirm. nice against cg as well then. also punishing shot. also incendiary arrows. and everything else :S

I think the direct hit itself misses, but the extra fire damage seems to go off.
This makes the interupts and what not miss.

I use Shield stance since it lasts 15 seconds (9 tactics), and blocks both melee and arrows.
Bonneti's also blocks melee+arrows; while filling your mana bar back up.
