i am realy interested in GW, but i didn't play any of the beta weekends and i dont really know that much about the game. I have read most of the information on the official site, but i still have a question.
I heard that if you die, there are no consequences. You just pop back up where you died.
Is this true?
If it is true, what is the point of a healer if there are no consequenses to death. Im sorry if this is a stupid question

Well if your doing a Team Mission not in the beginning green Ascalon then stay dead on the floor untill your ressurected. Then when you are ressurected you get a Death Penalty which reduces all you're stuff. And they suck badly. ^_^

It depends, if you're in pre-searing there are no concequences, as this is still a "newbie" area...hehe You don't pop back up where you are though, you are teleported to the nearest respawn point. Glowing arch thingies. After the searing though, when you die you recieve a stat penalty til you either kill enough monsters to work it off, or enter a town. Stat penalties reduce your level stats like health n energy by a %. Symbol is displayed in the upper Left. Generally a death results in a 15% loss of your level on your first death. And it increases each time you die. Again, its not a permanent thing, you dont lose any exp or money or nething. You just respawn, and if you zone into a town it resets.

but you can just res right back at your body instantly?

There is a percentage for each death you take. Meaning, when you die, you have 13% death penalty. You get exp, but very slowly until you get rid of the percentage, i think this can go as high as 60%.

i think my main concern was when pvping... say you kill someone...nothing is to stop them from just poping back up, like an endless battle.
