First Thread, Unique item in PVE or am i just a Newb....

Stumbled upon a Holy Rod tonight that I didn't know existed. Dropped as loot from a monster, here are the stats.

GOLD HOLY ROD

Fire Damage 10-21 *req 10 divine favor*
Energy +14
Energy regen -1
Improves skill recharge 8%

Now I am not new, have been playing for a couple months now since release and have never heard of or seen one of these before? Is this something new recently added or have my drops sucked that bad throughout my hours played? LOL


While I have your attention, could I get some sell advice on the following items as well?

+energy, -energy regen rods/canes/etc have always existed. Still that's a pretty nice find.

advice on axe: Aim for 30k-40k or just salvage the axe grip
Advice on Bow: Salvage

Collectors sell perfect +15 energy, -1 energy regen, but I don't think they're combined with skill recharge.

I am familiar with collector's that sell the offhand items with the bonuses of which you refer, but haven't stumbled upon the collectors that offer the strong hand weapon with energy bonus such as this. Could you kindly point me in that direction? I think I could make a killing selling +15-1r wand/rods as I see people asking for any weapon with +energy all the time.

I'd say don't salvage the weapons. All the experiences i've had with gold weapon salvaging have resulted in a common material. Well, except one, and that was a 3/-1 vampiric axe haft, but i've lost 2 +30 HP grips to common materials...
