This confuses me a bit. I know for a fact that absorption runes dont stack, neither are the armor pieces however take the Ascalon gear for an example and compare them with the cheap(50g) one with the expensive(15k) one. Is there any difference in Damage Reduction or is it just a difference of armor rating?

that reduction is the equivalent of a superior absorbtion rune. the extra cash for the set is effectively to have this rune implanted in your armour. i think that means you can add more runes on top of that so i suppose if youve got the cash your saving space. aside from that, just buy a superior absorbtion and stick it on the mighty gladiators.

knight's/ascalon armor damage reduction = -2
superior absorption damage reduction = -3
major absorption damage reduction = -2
minor absorption damage reduction = -1

the damage reduction from knight's/ascalon armor and absorption rune stacks
multiple runes do not stack

Knight's armor damage reduction is global. So you only need to wear one piece of knights armor to get the full effect. I would recommend knights boots and glads everything else (for the energy) unless you're a hammer in which case you want the stone fist guantlets or whatever they're called.

it is indeed ,as sarus says, a global reduction. on my thread a little while ago however we discussed how it is indended to be to only the one peice. (on the interactive manual.) it should be up for fixing but is not at the top of the priorities list.

anyway full knights is the best for looks.... on a girl anyway

They're first avaliable at the Hedge of Denravi. And at the armor crafters after that(Amnoon, Droknars).

Okay, here are the facts: You only need 1 piece of Knight's/Ascalon armor to get its -2 dmg reduction. This dmg reduction, as well as reduction from Absorption runes, only count towards damage which takes armor into its calculations, in other words, all damage except for Shadow, Chaos, and Holy (Sans Judge's Insight). Shield reduction, on the other hand, counts towards EVERYTHING, except for life-stealing damage, which, to my knowledge, cannot be mitigated in any way shape or form.

Hope that answered your questions.
