Alright I was down in the UW doing that dreaded monk smite run and was surronded by a bunch of darknesses. I keep pushing the SOJ and Aura spells but they do not fire, do not cost energy, and are definately not being interupted. They just plain aren't doing anything. What the heck was going on. I was able to use others such as bonetti's, but those two just wouldn't activate. Has this ever happened to anyone else before?
After about a minute of these spells not working I started attacking one of the darknesses and then they worked. What was up with that?

I'd like to see an answer on this as well. I have heard references to some skills having bugs in them, and have had the same exp. myself where skills would not work as planned.

I played last night and my skills that i had from the begininng of the game would not stay on for more than 2 seconds.....i just thougth that it was some kind of spell or ability the enemy was using. if it were a bug do u think it was the area i was in? because the skills have never acted up before, just around the mesmer gargoyles

I had the same issue too.
Last nite i was in Droknar's Team Arena. And we lost 2 matches cos my heal spells just wouldnt cast at all.
In the third they started working.
Im assuming with this comming update, Anet my be doing some work on their servers and so some glitches appear... but dunno.

I have had the same problem with crippling shot. About an hour ago it happened again. I was pressing it really hard but it wasn't activating. The skill sort of pulsed but nothing happened.
My energy every time has been fine, always in close range.
There is definitely a bug with some skills.

pulsing skills generally means lag.(like a small stopage in playtime)
experienced it a few times as well, did the monsters move or went back to their unaggroed poses.
/if nothing else was moving = lag.

ya...mine happened with the skill that allows u to attack 33% fast with -40% armor...and the symbol showed up at the upper right and immediatley dissapeared....just thoguth it was part of the game since im new n all lol
::edit:: actually everythign else was moving in real time....they attacked me and i kept attacking them....no split images at all....just the pop up and drop of the skill box

i've had it happen to me as well when trying to heal in the arenas. Very annoying.

gah! I wasn't playing in any PvP fight.. was just PvE'ing and this happened to me. Was quite constant.. my skills would just flash like I was being lagged and then 50% of the time they'd go off and the other 50% of the time they wouldn't go off.
really frustrating... I thought it was just my connection (dial-up here).. but I was having no lag to any other web sites or online games.. and the "lag" issue's with skilsl was comming and going randomly..
Guess I'll say I'm glad it wasn't just me who experienced this... guess it's prolly just ANet behind the scene's doing something.. that's the only thing I can think of... or their ISP/gateway was having issues

I've had this happen to me, and I agree that it's probably lag. Everytime this has happened, pushing a button to move my character a little has fixed it.

It happened to me lastnight as well and before it is server issue only not on your end and not you skills.I was useing heal breeze and it was taking for ever to recharge it is just a server issue.
