Its sole porpouse is for indicating your party members so they put their atenttion to something specific in that area.

For example you and your pal get split in an explorable area, and can no longer see yourselves in your radar neither follow yourselves with double click.

Clicking on the map, and sending those signals can help your friend find you again.

That is one of its multiple uses, the end is in the imagination.

I've even used a sort of simplified morse code for PvP combats for members that dont have TS or Ventrilo.

also when you call a target it alerts other members to focus on 'called target' in pvp it is useful to spike someone who is close to death, but you want a tad of assistance from your teamates.

Captain Ramius: Re-verify our range to target... one ping only.
Capt. Vasili Borodin: Captain, I - I - I just...
Captain Ramius: Give me a ping, Vasili. One ping only, please.
Capt. Vasili Borodin: Aye, Captain.

Also, if you hadn't tried it yet, you can scribble on the radar map.
Just hold down the mouse button and drag it around.
This is great for telling your team where to go.

There is also a common language emerging in the radar map...
A reiterated solid line in front of the party means... STOP HERE! Maybe to pull monsters or have a ranger set a trap.
An "X" drawn over a target or such means.... DON'T ATTACK THIS ONE!
Drawn arrows can mean.... GO THIS WAY!

Have fun!

Not to mention testing your artistic abilities with the male sex organ.

I prefer drawing the female anatomy. Certain parts can be tricky. ;-)

I'd guess that if this thread continues by the artistic road its going... we should move it to community works forum.!!!

LOL.
