Strangly effective and simple warrior build

Ye olde England.

I was just trying out my W/Mo for the first time in PvP today and he was doing ok, I was just using strength, sword and healing, it was a pretty crappy build, so I decided to switch healing for tactics and try that out. I didn’t have all the skill I wanted and had ran out of refunds, but I ended up with this build:

Skills:
Sever artery
Gash
Hamstring
Final thrust
Gladiators defence
Frenzy
Watch yourself
Healing signet

Attributes: (including runes and hat, total runes were sword, strength, tactics, vigor and absorption all minor.)
Sword 13
Strength 10
Tactics 11

For Equipment I had full gladiators armour with an ascalon helm, I had the collectors sword that is 15-22 +15% when in stance with no upgrades as I had just got it. My shield was a standard max with +5 energy.

At first I didn’t think I would get very far with this build as empathy or something similar would just stop me in my tracks, but my first go in the competition arenas I won 8 straight victories, 6 were flawless until I had to leave for dinner. After which I had another attempt at the Competition Arena and I went on to win 10 straight victories, followed with another 8 in the team arenas before me and my team all had to leave again anyway. We faced all sorts of teams, ranging from spirit spammers, to pure warriors, to pure casters, spiker teams yet we never lost more than 1 person. We even managed to beat a guild team.

I just wanted to see what people thought of it, also anything I could do to improve it. I am considering of getting rid of Gladiators Defence, but it seemed to be a great warrior deterrent.

Three words. Bring Rez Sig. Also your build would be extremely weak against conditions. A simple blind or weakness will stop you in your tracks. Since you are W/Mo, bring at least a Mend Ailment or even a Smite Hex too.

I think the realization nowadays is this:

Anything goes. There are no rules.

If you own, you own, wether or not your build has some weaknesses in it.

Using Gladiator's Defense on a character that doesn't get attacked is enough to get you crucified in some countries. Stop the madness.

Preach it Bast. Gladiator's Defense in PvP? You do realize that any warrior with half a brain isn't going to target you until after everything else is dead. So activating Gladiator's Defense will just cause him to step back, get a drink, and get back with you in 10 seconds.

I'm glad you stated that you were thinking about dropping it, because I think that is by far the best choice you could make. If you're playing 4 vs 4, rez sig is in my book crucial. Not to mention that warriors/rangers are prime candidates to bring rez in absolutely any type of PvP, now that I think about it. They're both tough to kill and not often targeted, ensuring that they'll be able to use said rez. The rest of the build seems like a standard sword warrior. I think I'd start experimenting with different elites.

The thing is, I strongly believe that a very large percentage of warriors in random arena don't have 'half a brain,' which makes it hilarious if you kill them with Gladiator's Defense.

Well thanks for the replies everyone one. I can see that most people don’t like Gladiators Defence, and for the same reasons I don’t like it myself either, but I thought I should at least try it out, and every time a warrior attacked me they either died or ran off, even in the team arena's where I was expecting a much harder challenge.
I'm also going to bring a distraction skill as I found had quite allot of opportunities to distract someone from casting something like meteor shower or resurrect.

I see 3 conditions being used and the build seems energy heavy. [thanks to the extreme known as hamstring]

Victory is Mine! {E} can replace your Gladiator's Defense {E} since it too uses tactics and it does what Healing Sig doesn't... HEALS ENERGY! (that's the real reason ViM! should be used, not for its hp healing)

Chucking Healing Sig for Res Sig and Victory is Mine! instead of GD and you've got yourself some REAL skill class synergy going on. Ditch Watch Yourself for either Remove Hex, Smite Hex, or Mend Ailment. Extra armor ain't crap when your hexed/conditioned. Make your enemy WORK to bring you down...

I'm not sure what to trade but I'd say bring Sprint somehow... Rush if you're REALLY good at building adrenaline... ^_^

O dear. Gladiator defense is horrible, just horrible. The only time it works is in PvE when you aggro every melee mob and let it attack you.
