I have seen how many classes can boost some of their stats up to 16, or 17. My question is this: How high can the rangers stats be boosted, and if you are so inclined, what is the best way to raise them above and beyond the normal cap of 12?

the highest for any class to get is 16 (some classes areexceptions)

attribute brought to 12 -> +1 from hat/mask/whatever +3 from superior rune of choice = 16

anyone's stats can be raised to 16 if you use the +1 attribute headgear and a superior rune

there is also a grip for a bow that gives +1 to Markmanship (20% Chance)

so i guess marksmanship can be raised to 17 sometimes

And don't forget elementalist & Necromancer's have skills which give +'s to their skills, so a max of 17-18 is possible - depending on the class/attribute. Might even be as high as 19 depending on things... (I realize your asking about Ranger... but just thought I'dd add this)

but yeah, anyone can make 16.. max 12 in points, head-gear & sup rune = 16 in that attribute. so to get 16 in the attribute you want - max it to 12, make sure your wearing the headgear which gives +1 to that attribute and have a sup run (+3) for that attribute. You might also be able to get it to 17 at times.. as there might be +1 skill x% chance strings/grips .. but I can't confirm that...

Ok. cool, thanks for the help, I guess I just overlooked the headgear, but just checked my build and see that I have plus one to expertise

20% of the time you use the skill in that attribute category, it will be 1 skill level higher. For example, if you have 12 in marksmanship, and it states marksmanship +1 (20% chance), then when you use a marksmanship skill you will have a 20% chance to make the skill act as if you had 13 in marksmanship, whether it be more damage or whatever.

But say for example the bow req 12 marksmanship and u only have 11 marksmanship.
The bow you are about to use has a +1 marksmanship. Will that mean you have reached the required marksmanship to use the bow effectively?

Meeting the requirement can make the weapon to operate in it's full spec. If your bow is dmg 16-25 (12 markmanship requirement) and you only have 11 markmanship, it will deal less damage than 16-25. But if that bow has +1 markmanship(20% chance), it will deal the full 16-25 when +1 markmanship is triggered.
