an example of what i mean.. this items info is listed as...
fiery wingblade sword of defence
damage 15-22
damage +13% (vs hexed foes)
armour +5
now is the damage +13% the hilt.... and
armour +5 the pommel?
as in if i add a pommel will the armour +5 be replaced?
OR are the bonuses listed in the order they were added to the weapon? I.E. if i dont remember which is the pommel it COULD be the damage +13% that is replaced if that was the original pommel.
Can you tell which upgrade is which on a weapon?

There's a fiery mod and a +5 mod. the +13 is an inherent mod that you can't salvage out, nor can it be replaced.
... I forgot which is which. Pummol or Hilt...
... in any case, that's a perfect defence mod... you should keep it on there... especially since defence is better than fortitude.

I thought with swords the prefix was the hilt and the suffix was the pommel. In my experience Fiery dragon swords with no other mod always give fiery hilts, never a fiery pommel.

the prefix is always the hilt, and the suffix is the pommel. for instance, on your sword, the hilt is the fiery part, and the pommel would be the armor +5. you cant add or remove dmg % on any weapon, which is why +% dmg is worth so much.

You can tell that hilts are prefixes because they all have prefixes - such as "Fiery Sword Hilt". Pommels are always suffixes, as you can tell from them all having suffixes - "Sword Pommel of Fortitude".
