first off this is a tombs/gvg setting, just a heads up

ok now the build:
putrid
energy drain
energy tap
ether feast
shadow of fear
rend enchantments
rigor mortis
res signet

16 death magic
10 inspiration
the rest into curses.

this build is for support only, all you do is use shadow of fear on the warrior clump, rigor mortis on the called target, rend when needed, and spend your time eating someones energy until you use putrid.

how can i make this build better?

dont be afraid to call it total trash, its one of my first necro build ideas

Its for Tombs/GvG, no self-healing needed.

The usefullness of Rigor Mortis rather depends on what the rest of your team is doing. If you're working with warriors and rangers, fine, but if your damage is coming from ele's I wouldn't bother. A fitting alternative would be Malaise, though be careful not to remove it too quickly with your other energy denial skills.

The other thing to consider is that you shouldn't be too badly off in terms of energy thanks to energy tap and drain. You might want to up your damage output with Deathly Swarm, or take a high-cost menace like Well of the Profane.

sorry for replying a bit late, but yea i definetly like the idea of well of profane, especially with the 5 sec recharge on putrid

(woot no one flamed me i must be on to something )

oh and rigor was mostly because i play this as a support to axe warrior builds

although with the update i guess i have to throw in echo to at least some kind of putrid chain off...

For tombs and maybe GvG it's pretty nice build. Rigor is great when working in concert with axers, you can punch a big hole through wards, aegis, guardian, etc. I would recommend bringing 1-2 cheap cover hexes to protect it against hex removal (except convert, obviously).

i dont feel liek creating another post for this, since its a really minor point, but, just to let you know, using arcane echo with putrid explosion is amazingly effective. if you kill someone on the first putrid the second is ready with 0 downtime, if you want to follow up on a third you may have to wait like 1-2 seconds but normally its never really a 'perfect' chain and worked quite well in a recent gvg i did.

just thought id let you all know the way around the putrid nerf
