That is NOT Pink... How the...
Winterlaurel
I mixed a purple and red according to a chart. The base color for the armor I'm wearing is green, even if you use the dye remover...
It turned dark purple. SOOoooo not pink. HELP!

Is it enchanter's armor?

Laurel, I'm sorry about the dye chart. Here is a link to some more. But the more I think about it if you start with green and add a pink to it, it should end up purple. If you bought the dyes to create this I will gladly refund you the cost if you desire.

try this..
use dye removal on the armor you want pink,..
mix:
1. [1] red dye [IN TO>>] [1] purple dye
2. another [1] purple dye [IN TO>>] the already mixed one,
that makes a nice pinkish mix, then use the mix dye on the armor to make it pink.
enjoy.

Uhh Pharoke, I looked at the chart and it said if I mixed black and silver dye it'd give me some other color and I didn't get that other color. 10k please

Nonono, sweetie! It's perfectly fine! I wouldn't want to ask for money from you. I appreciate it though!

problem is it has a lot to do with the base color of the armor. for instance, here is my ranger/mo. just got her to droknars, purchased my set of 70 druid's which defaults as dark brown (armor is mostly tanned hide squares with some wood planks tied to it) and each piece recieved one purple+red+silver=pink dye.

Actually I am a black and silver dye hoarder Badger(and every other color), so let me know when ya need it :P The real problem with that chart is a lot of people don't know to strip the armor 1st with dye remover, and even this doesn't work on occassion. What we need is a dye chart that starts with the base armor color and builds off of that. Hmmm project for me....nah to damn busy as it is. I was trying to dye my elementalists armor a light lavender to match her hair color and it came out kind of a bright magenta, not what i was looking for.

I have never found using dye remover before dying does anything at all. I guess onyl some armors need it, or what?

Red/Blue/Purple is what I used *shrugs*

Using dye remover first does *nothing*. Any time you apply dye, it cancels any existing color (some armors come dyed, like rogue's for mesmers or druid's for rangers) and applies to the default armor color.
Unfortunately for mesmers, you get very unexpected results. My avatar's mask is purple+red, obviously not pink. My 15k rogue's is the color of grape juice with purple+red applied to it. I've seen 15k enchanter's and it's a nice pink color with purple+red. I've also seen 15k noble's/regal in purple+red and it is a very saturated magenta color.

I tried about 10 diffrent mixtures and none showed up as pink as i wanted it on my armor.. so i guess it all depends on what you wear

I actually got a semi dark pink color by applying just read to the warriors knight armor. So I just don't know anymore. I guess it is mostly up to the gods and if you have favor or not :P

is there anyway to get white?
spiritofcat
Orange + Purple makes a slightly pinker red than normal red.
I got quite a nice pink on my necro with Orange + Purple + Purple.

The pink armour is very intimidating in tombs

well, heres hoping that the Frog was right when it said they were looking into reserching more colors...*ie white dye*
then although we will need another dye chart, at least we could make a reasonable light pinkish shade...
oh, and dont forget, theres a few shades of pink...theres salmon pink and magenta pink as well as ordinary white and red pink.
i noticed that red+purple gives a nice blue/red shade rather than the bright fire engine red you get with a bottle of virgin red....hmmm...dyes are at least nice and reasonable now, specialy the less popular shades....
*wonders how much white will cost after 30 mins since it has been added via updates lol*
