I am a bit confused on skill points. As I advance I am supposed to put points toward various skills. How do I do that?

The default key is H to see your attribute distribution points as well as other information.

My understanding is you have to find "skill" trainers in the towns. They will have certain ones available for "sale" and each one costs you skill points.

There are no trainers for you to buy them off of in the first area you start in I believe. (Searing Ascalon) When you finally leave the next area has one Skill Trainer I have found in the new version of Ascalon.

There are attribute points and skill points. Skill points allow buy or capture skills at a ratio of 1:1 meaning you can learn 1 skill for every skill point you have. In the starting area, all of your skills are just given to you so skill points don't really matter.....but they will. There are also quests that will reward you with a skill and don't use any of your skill points. The short answer is, don't worry about skill points as you will probably always have enough to get the skills you want.

Attribute points are given to you each time you level up and there are charts on this site to tell you how many you get at each level. Assign those to your various attributes (press H) to increase the effectiveness of the skills linked to those attributes.

Much of this info is available via the manual, in-game, on countless forums and on the guides listed prominently on this site. I'd suggest you go to any of these places first before you ask your next question.

Why you gotta be a jerk about it. I wouldn't have asked if I had found the answer. Thanks for the info though.

OR, if the person's question annoys you to such an extent, you could simply choose not to reply and move on. Sheeeeeesh. It's a game forum here. We're not saving lives.

He answered your question in a detailed manner and suggested you read the manual? Then not only do you not thank him or the two people above him, you jump on him? Grow up.

Did he not find answers to his problem and potentially future problems? I don't see anyone saying he couldn't or shouldn't post questions here.

The sarcasm isn't appreciated.

Some people don't have the patience to read through countless manuals and faqs. Some other people actually like to help others get along in new games such as guild wars and don't mind responding to "newbie" questions. So you shouldn't tell people to RTFM IMO

Well, reading the manuals is good, but what he said about other forums- it's just without thinking before
Why possibly would someone come to this forum, if he already has another one with all the answers? Hmm. Expect if he a FORUM MANIAC

This thread has degenerated badly- it's not anybody's place to criticize others on whether or not a question is answered in these forums, on the site, or anywhere else- if a thread is not wanted, the moderators will deal with it.

Since the origonal question was answered, I'm going to close this thread. Please refrain from making snide comments, and be sure to use the search function to find if your question has already been answered before posting a new thread. If it's not on the forums or displayed prominantly on the site, a question is valid.
