never got skill point reward from "Tithe" quest

I never ended up getting the skill point from the "Tithe for Ashford Abbey" quest, I got the 250 exp, but not the skill point. I know b/c just before I gave Devona the tithe, I refunded Healing Prayers from level 8 to 7 and got 9 skill points back, but after giving her the tithe, I still had 9 skill points.

Has anyone else had the problem of not getting the skill point from this quest? Is there any way to make up for the lost skill point?

You're mixing up skill point with attribute points. Devona gives you a skill point which you can use later in the game to buy a new skill. Attribute points are awarded when you gain a level. 5 per level at first later 10 and 15. When you get to level 20 you will have gained 200 attribute points to distribute to your attributes. For example: Healing Prayers is an attibute, Bane Signet is a skill.
