You might want a runner to get to Droknar Forge, go to Beacons Perch, and request a runner for 2-3k. Let him run you through Camp something, forgot, then Droknar Forge. From there, you can buy either Gladiators, Wvyerm, or Platemail. Platemail is 25 iron ingots and 4 steel for helms, boots, and gauntlets. 50 iron ingots and 8 steel ingots for legs. 75 iron ingots and 12 steel ingots for the chest. I don't know the other two, maybe other members can help you out on that one.

EDIT: You also need 1.5k to craft each armor.

OR you can play through the game like a normal person and get to Droks when you are supposed to.

Yeah. Even though I'm on my 4th character! I should play through the storyline and not skip ahead. Brilliant idea.

Or, if you realize that the OP hasn't been there yet, let him play through just once. I deal with enough newbs and noobs in Droknar's, I don't need anyone encouraging more to go there.

I got run there, got armor and then went back and played through the game. could care less I jumped, saved me a bunch of money on buying armor along the way... I don't have a warrior so no idea what you could be looking at for materials. But 1.5k to craft each piece and usually 75 cloth, leather or tanned hides plus 15 or more of the secondary material.

Camp Rankor is the middle point and has a skill trainer.

You don't need to go to Draknors just to Camp Raknor and then use the henchies the rest of the way I won't spoil the henchies though. We lost our runner when I took my Warrior down there at Raknor so I went on my own and made it in leass than 10 min.It is easy from Raknor it is just finding your way is hard part.

I would suggest knights.

Yeah, you'll want to have some company. Bring some body bags for the henchies, too. And don't forget to report back here for us how it went . . .

Noobs just beg for money and act stupid...

newbies get there and ask questions regarding the 70% of the game they skipped so far.

No, but apparently I'm supposed to supply the gold and materials for free to lvl 12's, because they got run there and now they can't afford any armor, but they absolutely CANNOT go on without it.

The general accepted use is:
Newb = newbie = someone new who doesn't know his/her way around. Nothing wrong with that.
N00b = idiot = someone who's just stupid. Generally people you don't want on your party.

I didn't mean to lash out at you Hemii, sorry if I sounded like that. But it's generally not a good idea to get run there with your first character. Some people don't like the story and missions; I think they're mostly easy.

If you're trying the run yourself, good luck and don't let the Wurms get ya.

Can non-warriors actually make the run? A group of us tried about 5 times last night and failed every time. A 20th level warrior offered to run us for the fun of it, we all died in the first 30 seconds, he made it all the way.

I'm 18th level, close to 19th necro/monk, and I lasted longer than the others, but still can't imagine I could make it without help from someone l ike the warrior we had.

Isn't the run geared towards warriors?

Rangers can also make the run.. but it is not as easy for them to get past all of the knock downs...

It's people giving runners that ends up spoiling the game with incompetent players near the end.

They don't know how to use their skills since it wasn't really necessary, they just charge straight in and hack/wand away. They don't know weaknesses of their limitations, so you have casters charging straight in likely b/c it used to work with their max armor in earlier part of the game. Or warriors who think they can tank but really can't b/c they used to rely on their armor.

There's no reason you "need" to be run. Collectors have great armor. I didn't farm and still had all the items I needed for the collector armors along the way. Total: 0g spent.

There is 1 point in the game lacking collectors, I remember towns were selling 49 armor and I was on 31. Something like that. Didn't buy armor, went through just fine with the "crappy AI, underleveled" henchmen. Next area, collectors had much better armor than towns. In general, collectors have far better armor.

I wasn't to thrilled with the appearance of collector's armor available for my Ele... it looked alright but didn't dye very well. If your getting run to droknar, just go right back to where you left off after you get your armor. That way you won't spoil the story.

This is prolly a real newb question...but, once someone gets run to Droknar's and get's their super armor, how do they get back to "elsewhere" in the game? It takes more than just armor to get past some of the mobs I've run into and I'm a long way from the Forge.

You are aware of how to use the map to move around, yes?

Sorry if that seemed ass-ish, just was an odd question is all...
