ima bit confused about the knights armor u can get for a warrior at droknars forge. each piece supposedly reduces damage from attacks, but isnt that a rune thing? and runes dont stack. i bought the platemail, but numerous ppl ive talked to tell me that i made the wrong choice. ne one got an explanation?

The absorption you get from Knight's armor stacks with your absorption rune. So if you have a superior absorption rune, you'd be getting -5 damage, globally. You also only need *ONE* piece of knight's armor to get the global damage reduction of -2. So you can keep your plate, if you want to look cool, and just buy knight's boots. Or if you want to look like you know what you're doing you can buy your +1 to attribute helm, full glad's, (stonefists if you use hammer), and knight's boots .

as to making the wrong choice, most advantages from weapons or differences in armor are extremly minimal. -2dmg. really, what is that? if your hit 50 times, you have 100 more health, but ath that point, you would have died 10 times anyway.

buy armor you think looks good, not what is "better"

If you're looking for effectiveness, then you SHOULD go with Knight's/Ascalon. -2 damage helps a lot more in the long run. Chances are, especially in PvE, you will get hit a lot more than just 50 times. That -2, combined with a Superior Absorption (-3) and a shield with -1/2/3, can give you a lot of resistance against normal damage-dealing attacks.

As to differences in armor:
Gladiator's: 80 AL +energy +20 vs Physical
Platemail/Wyvern: 85 AL +10 vs Physical
Knight's/Ascalon: 80 AL +10 vs Physical -2 global damage reduction

Gladiator's is more overpowered than the other two armors, having the highest physical damage armor and giving tanks sorely needed energy. Between the Platemail and the Knight's, Platemail wins by 5 AL, which translates to about 8.3% damage reduction.

But, since it IS PvE, armor types don't matter too much. You can get through the missions with any type of armor. If you really like Platemail, stay with it.
