Well it's about time they fixed up tombs matches. Other than the HoH, there are no longer any gank fests. Simple 1v1's, with scarred earth (or was it burial mounds) being two consecutive 1v1's.
Great improvement. Much better battles, no more ganking and getting lucky. Sweet update.
I'm loving tombs.

I so envy you. I haven't been able to play since last night. Still can't untill later tonight.
This sounds really awsome. HoH still being a KoTH is a definite problem, but at least you can have fun on the way there.
Free for all and altar maps were more often lame then not, sounds good on paper but ends up slowing things down and promoting griefing.
:\ ganks.
I don't get it how do people get ganked. Like you're attacking someone near their priest, someone comes up behind you. You run past the team you're fighting into their base and then they're being ganked. Then they die or they run behind the team who originally ganked you so then they're being ganked. Then they run behind you.
Etc etc....
You allow yourself to be ganked or they're simply extremely determined to eliminate you. If they are who cares it's like the first or second round.

A certain team might be the best thing that hit Guild Wars, but going 2v1 is gonna make it bloody hard to win no matter what. I applaud the change. At least now there's some ganking going on in the HoH, but getting to the HoH is entirely dependent on your ability in 1v1.

this is a good change because it gives more people a chance to hold halls, instead of 1 team holding for 3-4 hours 30+ consecutive wins. |
Yes people leave 30+ consec wins getting 40 fame a win so they can unlock a few elites.
It's all strategy.

That's exactly the problem, the constant leap-frogging. What's even worse is that more often than not, people keep an eye on the scorechart, and when you're winning, they purposefully ignore the other team and target you, making it a 2v1. Tombs has been very good to me tonight. My guild put together a decent group of folks who actually will listen and we tombed for nearly 12 hours today. We handily doubled my fame and earned so much faction that whenever we would lose a match, I'd have to log onto my RP character and spend it to avoid the cap. Several guildmates who haven't done very much in ToPK before this update made rank 2. I will probably hit 3 tomorrow if we put that same group together again. I will admit some matches were insanely easy and you could clearly tell the other side had no organization. Some matches were pure gank fest. Some matches were just plain old slugging it out between 2 identical builds with roughly equivalent players. Our shortest flawless was about 2 minutes. Our longest drawn-out match was about 15 minutes. I'm really enjoying not running into a group spamming spirits everywhere. I also saw more of ToPK than I ever have before, including one (pathetically brief) trip to the HoH. WTG Anet for the PvPX event!

Aw, hon...guild hopping is common in this game. And yeah, we're all strange and only the weird people like us stay in the guild past the 1st 48 hours. It's just that we oftentimes can't stand people who are utter morons. Newbs - I like. Morons - I can't stand. If you can't operate a simple program (TS), please don't bother asking if you can join my group. If you can't answer me as to whether or not you even have TS, don't bother. If you don't have it, the least you could do is say so. We do let our hair down though and go bonkers. We ran a monkball group the other night and just camped our priest. We decided to screw that crap about counting Sig of Judgement and just heal and see how long we lasted. Half an hour match with 2 teams beating the hell out of us. One of the other teams whispered to ask me "WTF was that?!?" I told them, "Fun!" If you ever party with us past - oh, about midnite US Central time, be prepared for some serious silliness. We run goofy builds that time of night and in general just have a wild time. We're all tired from our normal day and we don't want "serious PvP" at that time of night.

It takes about 1 hour to get a group and then people just leave at the first loss.
