Everyone in GW seem to be infected by VSCS: (Very Short Character Syndrome)
I decided to make a female necro yesterday because i got tired of looking at my butt-ugly monk. I set the height of the necro to be one scale shorter than the defult height. When i entered the game she appears to be colossal. She was a full head taller than most of the female characters and same height as most rangers and warriors.

People like small characters.....well except male warriors, seen lot's of full scale ones, but female monks are mini.

There is a valid reason to make monks/casters small - the smaller they are the "harder" it is to select them in PvP if they are moving around and/or have "big" sized characters close to them. This is one reason to make a caster type char small.. if you plan on PvP'ing.. any small "advantage" you can try and gain is good. Now whether it's actually effective or not... who knows.. I doubt it's effective at all against ppl who use the keyboard to select targets... but against mouse-clickers? sure you probably have a small advantage..

Me? I have 2 small characters and 1 large character.. lol Warrior & Ranger are small & Necro is large. Gotta say it's funny walking around as my Necro and being bigger than most other chars.! hehehehe

I make all my female characters the shortest, but keep my male characters at the set heighth. My girlfriend on the other hand, makes all her characters the tallest, she likes to tower over everyone else in game, whereas, I like to hide in the crowd.

Except its really not harder to select them, thanks to hot keys. Clicking on actual models seems woefully inefficient.

if you really want to be hard to click on... make short names... really short names...

model in GW were always hard to click on... it is always the name length to be click on.

If anything, have tank with really long name so people accidently click onto them.

I never click on character model to select target... it just doesnt work very well... So, the point about smaller model... is more like non-sense.

My male elementalist is as tall as posible, and he often looks like a giant when compared to other characters, especially female monks who are about half his height.
My female characters are all no more than medium height, I think tehy just looked better that way.

I've also made all of my chars as short as possible. The models just look stretched in the char creation screen out if you increase the height.

I make mine short so that I appear to run faster. I feel sluggish with big characters.

All of my characters are either one below the default scale, one above, or right at default. Characters that are too tiny or too large just look ugly to me.

I made my first character, a ranger, just one tick up from the minimum, because I'm not tall myself. I was shocked--shocked--at how small she is. My husband calls her "Tinkerbell."

So my next, an ele, I made just one tick down from maximum, and she's an Huge. OK. Let's just call her "statuesque." And my husband always complains about her towering over everyone else.

My third char, a warrior, I left dead in the middle, and she seems to be just right.

Still love "Tinkerbell" though. Now that she's lvl 17, her arrows hit for a bunch of damage for such a small girl.

Its fun to see small warriors using huge powers and weapons and slaying the bigger enemies.

I make 'em all short because I like playing with the camera zoomed all the way out for maximum view, and my little stumpy characters eat up less screen real-estate that way

I think there is a horrendous secret reason for it.

Rather like keeping my characters on the taller end of the spectrum, no particular reason. Although, my mesmer is about 1-2 ticks down from max height and he looks like a freaking 7' tall basketball player. He's HUUUUUUGE but skinny as a rail.

hm...tinkerbell, i like it^^
(and cyn, seeing her, i probably thought Kender! eheheh but hey, their nice, and i never had trouble with them much after the Kender Pouch invention....cept for Tass, who i told not to borrow my wand, and he did, and i needed to tell him off so i grabbed his topnot and held him up by it...whoa, i been hanging out with them too long ^^ )

Anita and Misha are both slightly smaller than normal, but thats cause i myself am 5 foot 2 and like my girls to be the same. i left the ranger and the elementalist at normal.

but yeah, ranger girls are the smallest when you use the smallest scale, they look tiny like little girls.....ooh, ranger elementalists pretending to be 12 year old killing machines, that brings back memeories ^^

My necro's as tall as I could make him, and my monk as small as she'd go. Mainly because they stand beside each other on my character selection screen and I thought it'd look amusing. My ranger and warrior are both at or just off the default height.

I like my farming monk to be really tiney so she can rape faces even though she's a small fry.

If the dude is using a bow, rod, sword or small shield, I make the toon the largest it can be.

If the dude is using a hammer, staff, axe or big honking shield, I make the smallest toon possible.

Nothing says PWNED like Gary Coleman kicking your butt.

I'm pretty tall myself, so I make my characters tall.

My war is full-scale, and my mesmer chick is also about full height. I prefer tall women, so thats that.

However, my monk is more like Gary Coleman, only named Ectos for the Win.

I make all mine small because in town, the textures are so shitty stretched out that you have to make the character small for the textures to look half decent.

Actually, female Monk's set at the smallest size are the smallest size in the game. Don't believe me? Create a female monk & ranger, set both at smallest size.. and then log in to see the character select screen.. I guarantee the monk will be shorter than the ranger.

The downside is that female monks get a big butt when made small. Not that all will consider a big backside a downside, of course.

Go for a tall mesmer if you want the runway model look.

The size of my character depends on how I am feeling when I create it.
