quick Question About Making dyes

hi, i read in the dye char sticky on the forum about how to mix dyes

the question i have is

when the chart says

Silver Yellow = (certain Color )
and
Yellow Silver = ( Certain color )

the result of those 2 mix are different colors, so when the chart says silver yellow, do i add the silver into the yellow dye or the yellow dye into the silver dye?

For two dye mixes it doesn't matter what order they are mixed in.

For three and four dye mixes it does matter (or so I'm told), but I have no clue what notation people are using for that.
