Ah taking the best close range and best long range classes, most counterproductive in essence, and making it productive? hmm... It's a worthy challenge. Albeit a very difficult one...

Needed to make the most of what a ranger's tagteam ability must be, so I give you, the Wolf Child mk. II class.

Axe: 12+1+3
Beast Mastery: 10
Strength: 9+3

Swift Chop
Penetrating Blow
Executioner's Strike
Call of Haste
Maiming Strike
Ferocious Strike {E}
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal

Since Ferocious Strike adds both energy and Adrenaline. It will feed the skills needed for the pet to survive. Namely Comfort Animal. This tag team was designed so that the pet can augment the two most devastating axe attacks that are non-elite and deal high damage. No real need for a sprint/speed buff since the pet does it just fine. No need for a snare either due to the pet being the snare. No need for attack speed buff since pet IS the buff AND you get adrenaline from the beast elite.

Swift Chop is just good in that you can always land it as long as you're not blind/hexed. The pet and yourself should be attacking at similar attack speeds so damage output is hot. Word of warning, no room for antidote signet and maybe you might want to trade out pen. blow for res sig, if possible.

No self-heals [which is usually fine] but in random arena, you're in dangerous territory. If you're fighting non-morons who truely ignore you and the pet since you're a useless w/r, then hey, cripple them, and let your pet have them for lunch!

edit* it's 9 leftover points for str. wow, 12/12/10...

With a 25% buff to pet speed in the new patch, I don't believe the Call of Haste neccessary. I would instead use Call of Protection. Combine that with their new AL of 80 and you get a damn tough pet.

Another suggestion is using Dismember / Axe Twist instead of PB / ES to Cripple the enemy, bringing them to the mercy of you and your pet.

Call of haste also adds 25% speed boost to attacks, which is great if you're looking for damage output. Call of protection is not as useful now, since pets do have 80 AL, on par with a warrior's base. And who attacks your pet first in PVP anyways?

Overall its a nice build. With the pet improvements, tiger's fury disabling pet attacks might make sense now.

The increased attack speed and maiming strike and movement buff make for a VERY fast catch. Dismember and Axe Rake won't come near the dmg that Exe Strike and Pen. Blow do. The pet itself is ignored MORE than the warrior.

When the enemy realizes the pet is eating him alive [and can't escape due to maiming strike] and that a warrior is in his face Swift Chopping his stance to hell while the pet Ferocious Strikes rapid fire means that the enemy is going to die...

So the enemy gets away from you? Pet movement under Call of Haste means you WILL still be hitting him and in 10s. you'll have Maiming strike again. Just keep landing that good ole' Fero. Strike {E} and as your energy goes up, let him have it with Critical Swift Chops... ^_^ Comfort Animal should make your pet easily able to survive any assault... [besides, it's true, why the hell would the whole enemy team care about your measly wittle pet...? ^_^]

for tombs, we ran w/r with charm and disrupt, the rest were axe skills, sprint, res sig. the pets don't get healed, they become sacrifices to our necro.

Hmm.. if he's stancing and you're forced to swift chop.. that means he'll probably be blocking your pet's ferocious strike... eh?

He's gotta point. Maybe wild blow over swift chop. You can pwn the stupid W/Mos with mending and Gladiator's defense. lol. I can see rangers being trouble for you and your pet if they throw dirt on the both of you though...

Not a bad idea really. Wild Blow helps the pet too. If both you and pet are blinded, well yeah, that's when you need to announce that to the monk. There NEEDS to be some sort of condition/hex announcement for the pet, unless the monk will actually give a damn that there's 2 darkened arrows by your pet's name [he might be hexed too]
