keep the pvpx faction gain!!
chaos dragoon
it is so awesome and faction is actually useable.if anet reads this they should make it permanent.
Kai Nui
Yeah, I agree. But then again everything in GW is underpowered. We should have always been getting this type of stuff. We wouldn't have to farm, etc... because we're always like in a rut, a ditch, in debt, we're always scraping at the surface to be able to play as skill and not grinding in this game. We need to get skill points faster, etc... We're just below what we should be. I think this should be the normal all the time, and occasionally have a boost like right now.
Warskull
I doubt they will allow this to be the permanent faction gain level, the PvE junkies would freak out. However even boosting it to roughly half of the PvP Extreme levels on a regular basis would greatly help PvPers unlock characters the way they want to.

I agree for the following reasons:::
1- the faction gain is great and loads of fun (but only temporarily since once we get used to it it'll be... well... normal)
2- In one run I can guarantee to gain enough faction to unlock something
3- In an absolutely fanatical weekend of dangerously long gaming hours I've gained enough faction to unlock 7 superior runes... That's a lot of gameplay for 7 out of how many hundred skills, elites, runes and upgrades? This isn't too much faction.

Considering how much there is to unlock if you don't go through PvE 3 times, this is a great rate of unlock aquisition. Anet is testing this higher faction gain, and it seems to work well! Keep it!
Timoz
I'm all for keeping it as long as the lag problems don't continue.

I like this amount of faction gain too. Though it is too high, because I'm primarily a PvE player (though I still PvP ocasionally), and, well.. if I'd rather play PvP than doing what I like more.. then it's too high. Think of it as the reverse of what it was before, if you will. If I can casually unlock a skill every hour though PvE (capturing elites), then it should probably be the same for PvP. Maybe 2.5x what it is normally (half of what it is for the weekend) would be good. Though I'm terrible at balancing things. Perhaps 2000 faction per hour spent fighting in the tombs would be a good start for balance. Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I like 2.5x normal, though it might just be the lack of sleep.
Anyway, just my $0.02 .

no i dont think we should, this PvPX has caused alot of lag problems for ALOT of people, its nigh impossible to play for people like us

as to the OP, agreed. I'm a hardcore PvE player, so I only play PvP every so often. and before, it seemed like forever before i ever got to 1,000 faction(sorry, im a completist...i have to unlock all the perfect upgrades that i can, even if the one i found in PvE is 1 point below perfect)
plus, i can see where this is useful to the pvp person who isn't in a great pvp guild and for the people who don't play much, at all. they can get on, play half an hour and unlock an upgrade to make there character better
Kai Nui
if we keep it this game will be more skill based instead of going through the game with characters and stuff.
Prophet Of Mercy
I don't think this should be permanent, but a once-in-a-while promotional thing. Like once a quarter if that. I'd say for chrismas or new years, or whenever ArenaNEt needs mroe money
Forboding Angel
2 days out of the year?
Goddamnit I hate idiots.
Prophet play pvp full time and then come back and say that.

i have gotten many superior runes but i cant pick and choose like faction people (couldnt use a one and only 1 was worth anything

The current faction gain rate is phenomenal. I played some games with my guild, and after a few casual Team Arenas and GvGs, I had enough faction to unlock the 20% staff wrapping I've wanted for like... forever.
I say heck yeah.. keep it. Reducing it wouldn't do much help in my opinion ;P

Although the OP really stinks, I am also for keeping the faction gain.
1] The build variety this weekend has been absurd [Random Arena]. I've hit everything including Mind Wrack R/Me, IW R/Me, Dark Aura, Spinal Shivers [god that sucked =( ], and even an Invinci-Monk [that we beat in 10 minutes =O ]. This boosted reward is allowing players to try out new builds they wouldn't normally due to lack of a reward, and also allows them to unlock skills.
2] This gives them motivation to do PvE and seek out the outposts off the beaten path in order to unlock skills. It also saves us time by only having to go through the game with one character instead of three. >_>
Either way, once ANet observes the gigantic vaccuum that will inevitably occur after the event ends, it may have no choice.

I agree with this idea. Although the faction gain is a bit high, as I've nearly increased by faction count by 10x within maybe 12 hours time, it still should be tremdously higher than the pre-event faction rewards. Somewhere about half-way inbetween current and pre-event faction seems good. Once this event is over, basically no more pvp for me for awhile. So yeah, anet is going to see a huge pvp vacuum.

the main problem now is another issue: you must have a PvE character that's finished the game in order to get certain skills (i.e. elites). the upgrades aren't a problem, though.
and those fragility r/me's....those guys made a killing out of me. the horror.....
