A farming build for a monk except the invinci-monk build.

Anyone got a build for farming without using the invinci-monk build? Im low on cash and I need a good monk farming build for post-patch.

What's wrong with "invinci-monks"?

If you are innovative and figured it out on your own, nothing.
If you made a cookie cutter monk, you lost your mold w/ recent updates.

You could just as easily make a mo/w build that works near as well as the w/mo build. Long as you stick to melee type mobs that have no dg or disenchants. Thing is there just aren't a lot of melee only good areas to farm. The popular ones have been spammed silly on these boards of where they are and what they are. They definitely get boring doing them over and over. So to change things up I have started to take either 1 or 2 of the NPC monks with me and can solo "LOTS" of things, even though it's not really solo, the good drop rate is basically about the same. I get my few purples the occassional gold and a bunch of blue and white drops, but, I don't have to zone in and out of the same area over and over playing this way. Plus being able to goto a lot more areas. I use a W/Mo and when I take the 1 or 2 monks I now bring along Restore life cause they usually always die before me and if I die well it's all over anyway. You could take one npc w/mo and one other monk with you ALesia is best though the worst, heh if you can understand that, she's good at healing, but, doesn't know not to tank.
Create your build around survival of yourself moreso than your npc's. Read the descriptions of your skills, you'll find the ones that will give you hp's and don't use any superior or major runes, just minors so you get maximum health, going the protective monk route isn't a bad idea with the npc's since you can buff up your max hit points with one of your skills about 136hps or so. You'll want to emphasis healing and protection with the rest into Smite and about 2 to 4 tactics. Take Zealots fire and throw it on yourself or your tank and then just spam everything you got to dmg all the mobs surrounding either you or your tank. Balthazar's spirit is only useful if you are getting hit, so if you take it, don't cast it until you are the last one left. Balthazar's Aura is your biggest smite dmg skill. You'll want heal other to keep your tank alive and then at least one self heal like healing breeze or orisons.
So if I were playing say a mo/w with a couple of henchies I would probably take something like this
Zealots Fire
Balthazar's Spirit
Bonetti's Defense
Heal Other or (Vigorous Spirit if soloing)
Balthazar's Aura
Healing Breeze or (Orisions if soloing)
Vital Blessing or (Living Vicarously if soloing)
Restore Life or (Mending if soloing)
If soloing no need for protection attributes, put those into divine favor instead. If you don't want the extra hps when playing with NPC's, also put the protection attributes into divine favor.
Of course if you want the easy route you can just make the 105/55 monk build and do the same thing with the common farmed areas that are melee only and do the same as the uw monks. I prefer more of a "challenge" to my gaming time, something that is too easy and no fear is not challenging and thus becomes boring real quick.

You don't need to be innovative to make a working 105 Monk. You just need to look through your skill list, find the skill that is the most like Prot Bond, replace Prot Bond with it, and go farm. I wouldn't call that innovative.
MentalMidgit
my build is for an ele/monk
its pretty much the same except u use protective spirit instead of bond and ether renewal

Umm.... A.Net definatly did not nerf the Invinci-Monks. If people actually used there minds instead of doing whatever someone else does then it would be easy. I haven't finalized the build/attributes yet, but there is still a monk solo build with Prot Bond.
chemical illusion
u know their are different invinci monks too, infact i made a mo/n that could probly take UW,
it above this one, a few forums up, try and check it out.
