Question about skill point/secondary class changing

After you ascend, i hear u can change ur secondary class. but im wondering, what happens to all those skill points you used to buy skills for your old secondary skill? do you just lose them? or do you get skill points back for all the secondary skills you previously had?

No, you don't get any of your previous skill points back, and you're only given the starting skills for whatever secondary you change to. However, to be able to get the other 15 attribute point quest (I can't remember if it's Hero's Journey or Hero's Challenge) you have to change your secondary profession. If I remember correctly you have to do a couple of the quests that change your secondary to further the quest. Not to fear though, if and when you change your secondary profession back to the original one, you get all the skills you had previously aquired back.

Changing profession is a good way to get the skillpoints you need for a PvP only chr. Skills unlocked will stay unlocked and are available whenever you change back to your old profession. And every unlocked skill is inmediately available for a new PvP only chr within the chosen professions.
