Im not too worried about load times anyways, just actual in game performance for example....holding an altar while teams are fighting you left and right. Im actually now worried my cpu wont be able to handle all that (1.6 pentium m)
Btw, if your son plays any games on his laptop, could you tell me what games he was able to run?

First of all his older Toshiba has a 5200rpm drive. That I know. That I checked. Video during that time was allot weaker then now. I think the most you could get was a 128meg dedicated "card" on them. But, those cost over 2K. With rebates his Toshiba came out too $1100.00. Not bad for a college computer. It had fairly decent bells & whistles for him in the entertainment dept. I believe it was a 2.4GHZ 400FSB. I really tried to get him the best laptop for the money at that time. Allot of parents will not even try to see what is a decent box from a piece of dung. They will find a laptop at the cheapest price and call it good. His Toshiba did not come with a built in wireless. So I made sure he got a real nice card for that. One with some range. That is important on a big campus.
What games does he play? Well Civ3 I know. (not that demanding graphics wise) Sims 2 I believe. He doesn't play all that many games. He has a heavy credit load and is working full time holding down an apartment in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Not an easy feat. He really uses his computer for school mostly. It is his "sound system" and "Movie" machine. I tried to get him to play Guild Wars. He might yet. I have two game keys, so he can use one of them.
He is coming home in a few weeks for a wedding our family has to go to. He will use MY computer to burn the latest movies for his laptop later on this year.

That is what I am good for. A Father should be there for his children.
