Hi, all. I've been greatly looking forward to Guild Wars, bought it just the other day and have liked what I've seen so far. I also think you have a great community here.
Formalities aside, my question is what, in your opinions, is a good secondary class for Ranger? I've always played archers in all RPGs, so Ranger wasn't a difficult choice for primary. Also, notice how I said a good secondary class. What I mean is, one that is useful as well as fun to use. I'm not a power gamer obsessed with having 'the best' character, I just want to have fun while contributing well to parties. Any feedback here is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Secondary profession for Ranger

All professions are balanced, so any is a good secondary for a Ranger.
You should choose based on what else you like to do.
If you don't know what you want, just pick one at random.

Well, that's basically what I'm asking. I want to know what types of combinations other people have enjoyed. I'm also not too sure what to expect from the other classes. I mean, having played many RPGs, I can guess what they will all be like at lower levels. But being new to this game, I don't know what skills they eventually get, and gameplay could become quite different toward the end. Thanks for the reply, though.

I created a Warrior with the Ranger as my secondary. They compliment each other perfectly. Any of the classes will work well with the Ranger simply because the use of a bow and an animal friend can be unsurpassed. Just be creative. Also, when you go to pick a second class you can "try" each secondary out. It takes some time to search out all the trainers but it's well worth it in the long run because once you "officially" pick one you can't change your mind. Before I chose the Ranger I tried out the Monk and Necromancer as secondaries but decided I liked my animal buddy and get too much use from the bow . Happy hunting!

Thanks for the reply, Solice . So far I've dipped into the monk, necro, and elementalist secondaries. I actually kind of liked the elementalist addition, but that's just me.
See you in game .

Heh, I picked the Monk as my secondary profession. I kinda wished I picked Elementalist, but feh. I don't think it'll hurt to be able to heal myself and smite things.

hehe seems i went different to you guys, i have a ranger/mesmer and i love using the life draining spells (conjure phantasm and energy burn) then finishing it off with my arrows... but as already said pretty much anything will work well. depends on which skill set you like best i guess!

Use the Search function at the top of the page with Ranger/ you'll get several results.

I have a Ranger/Monk, and he is working out pretty well. I also have a pet. He travels with me almost everywhere except when I go to Ascalon City. Is that part of the program? Does not really matter. He is cool anyway.
