Hey Ducky G, the same thing happened to me--apparently the store is not held accountable for the damages to the product ( like people opening it in the store and getting the key out) but the company (IE NCSoft) can help you out there.

I eventually ended up buying TWO copies of the game but i got 2 keys for it by simply

visiting www.quildwars.com and contacting their support site, and they had me mail them my packaging info and reciept and the store where i purchased the game's info and they reviewed the materials and in a week, i had two working copies of guild wars..which are both sorry to say used now.

Just be patient and best of luck to you.
