Stuck in a Rut

im having a problem.
i only bought the game about 2 - 3 weeks ago to coincide with some friends of mine playing it, we would all make chars together and be equal. it was great for a while. but recently, the game has made me bored.
once level 20 and have the best weap/shield i can afford and am happy with, i found there was nothing else to do. i thought PvP was the answer but after a few days of it i found out the reality of the tombs. everyone is looking for either a spiker or a monk. being a w/mo means getting a group is out of the question. i made a fire ele from presets to see what it was all about and i was pleased for a while till everyone added me, saying "air ele?" "no". *kick from group*. could i make an air ele for myself? just to be in one of those "AMAZING" spiker groups. no, because i cant get the "correct" spells for it. i suppose i could buy them with faction but thats not possible because no party will accept a warrior because they are so abundant, no matter how well you advertise yourself. making a new char isnt the answer either, its worse as you get post searing and killing endless devourers for war hammers which are rubbish anyway and doing inexorable missions just doesnt do it for me.
is there nothing left in the game??? maybe im just being boring and cynical, but i cant be the only one out there who thinks that GW is just a straight line that stops a few miles short.

Ever consider playing in UW/FoW?
That's where I have my fun.

i would but europe has the favor... oooh lets say. once in 3 days. even then we get it for about an hour before its stolen back again. i have to admit, also, that brought a great disappointment to me when i realised that it was just a big open space with, lo and behold... MORE QUESTS!!! what utter joy. *unimpressed smiley*

I would suggest finding a build (both in team and personal) that would negate the current popular spiker/smiter trend. And there is a way.
We have a build now (mostly for fun, often to win) that is neither of these two. Its fun as hell. We don't win everytime, but I would not be surprised that those we beat are complaining to ANet
BTW - My primary char is a War/Mon. Collected about 28,000 factions in 2 months. I work 9-5 and 90% of my factions is from pure random PvP - not even PvP Extreme.
War/Mo can get a lot of factions in PvP if done right.

if yes get chapter 2 if no dont get chapter 2
i will be getting chapter 2 as this game is meant to visit not live in like eq or wow

I was in your shoes a month ago. I completed everything got the t-shirt was about to give up then found a good no great fun guild who have fun and dont take it too serious. Suggest you look for another guild.

i am a closet ex-mohaa person. i play lots of fps' and i wasnt gonna give up the best game in the world which was mohaa for anything. i played it for 1.5 years straight, every day. then my clanmates decided to get GW as i stated earlier and tbh i was very impressed with my new purchase. all i feel is that it has a short life span. in doing your test, Lovi, compared to other games, my other being mohaa it fairs... lets just say "not very well", however i shall still be buying chapter 2 to see if it revives a once great game. for me i think its back to the mohaa days
also, how should i be giong about finding a good guild that i will like? is there a knack or is it just luck?

What do you consider fun? What parts did you enjoy? This isn't a FPS so you shouldn't expect the same game play out of it. Perhaps the best suggestion I can give you is to start a completely new character. An Elementalist isn't going to be played anything like a Warrior. As for doing Quests, missions and exploring....Welcome to the RPG side of town.
Ventius Hozza
yeah i tried making a new char, but by the time youve got to post-searing, the game has lost all of its charm and excitement and the quests just turn into "kill this thing"..."return to sender", whereas the first time i played it the quests were interesting and new, learning everything every time you play. but if you already know the mission, what is there to learn about it? one of the wall missions i foret the name = open door, kill more charrs than you can imagine, talk to some guy, collect some guy, kill more stuff.
what is there to excite someone? and the reason i cant remember the name is simply because the missions are all to similar.
also, i know in myself that once i have beared all of the boring stuff to get to the stage my warrior is now, what am i gonna do when im there? be bored again. thats what

Join a Smite team. They always need meatbags that can stand next to things.
2. Make a PvE character that has useful skills. You can't "Tank" PvP becuase nobody is dumb enough to hit a warrior before casters. Make a E/Me Me/E or so on.
Hardly anyone wants to play with a W/mo becuase most of them only pick it becuase they think being a "Paladin" sounds cool. Yah, I did too ^^;;

Secondly, you should know what you're looking for. Are you looking for a group of good friends only? Close knit? Or are you looking for something like the Amazon Basin, which has 200+ members spread over several guilds? Are you looking for a PvE guild, or a PvP guild? If it's a PvP guild, how serious/competitive do you want them to be, and also, can you get in?
Guilds, in my opinion, make or break this game after everything is said and done. Agony guild in particular is extremely close knit, and we hang out in ventrilo no matter what game we play. My suggestion is to make a few connections, and go on from there.
As for boredom, if one is intent on merely stating "I'm so bored of this game!!" over and over, then that doesn't seem to be a "please give me advice on what to do," but merely "I'm bored so I'm making endless posts in the forums, and I'm not listening in the first place.." Not to make accusations.. but now that you've reached the end of one road.. perhaps it's time to embark on another. Namely, finding a good guild and giving pvp another try.

well... aria, i think thats given me a new lease of life. thanks
and my char is a w/mo for functionality not for the name hes also my first ever rpg char so he not one of those lame presets

Friendly clan for mainly PvP? The problem is that I know many PvP guilds, but at the moment, they're either inactive or not recruiting. The best bet would be to post in the "Looking for a guild" thread in the guilds section, and be very clear in what you would like. Also, if you find a good pug, or anyone who seems nice and friendly, ask them about their guild and if they're recruiting. If you're looking for a PvP guild, ventrilo or teamspeak is a must -- fairly often, you can tell whether or not they're serious by seeing if they require team members to be on some sort of voice communication during matches.
In my personal experience, I was a bit of a forum lurker when I started playing GW. You get to know quite a few people, and you also start noticing their guilds. You can always contact forum members through PMs. If you want to talk to people on a more personal note, IRC is a great way to get to know more people, also. Although.. I would have to warn you that people in IRC are a bit abrasive sometimes (myself included), so I would suggest to have a rather thick skin. Many guilds have their own IRC channels.. but to start off, just hop on the Gamesurge server and go to either #guildwarsguru or #guildhall.
I would say to not rush into things.. shop well and good luck!

I live in the game... What's wrong with that?
@The OP,
Try the random arenas, where you can be the best W/Mo you can be, and no one can say a damn thing about it. Try out everything you can possibly do...
