Where is Oswalt Alston?

Is the Oswalt's Epitath quest bugged? When I enter the foothills the marker for the quest vanishes completely. I fully explored the zone and somewhere it gave me credit for signing his grave, however now it is asking me to return to him for the reward. I leave the foothills and the marker says he is in the foothills again but will not tell me where. Anyone else having a similar problem?

Where did u take that quest?
however the grave is at the center of map , near the ruins

After rescuing his wife doing the Shiverpeak Stragglers quest she will give you the quest to sign his grave. How lame that I supposedly signed his grave but cannot complete it because I'm supposed to talk to him heh.

my 2 guesses, actually go to his grave, in the center of the map. OR, go back and find her.

I have the same problem. I think it's a bug. :/ Been back to his gravesite, don't see a ghost anywhere. Ohwell, I suppose I could abandon the quest and re-do it.

Yeah it is kind of a buggy quest if you find the grave but notice him and dont talk to him when he appears then leave the zone he will not appear untill you abandon the quest and restart it.

same problem..so before i abandon the quest, where did i get the quest from, since ive had this quest so long, i forget who gave it to me. Wish they would fix this..seems a lot of people experiencing the same thing. Could this be for people that went to Yacks Bend straight from Piken Square (not going through Nolani)?

I dont recall this happening to me my 1st time through and the 1st time i went through Nolani to get to Yaks--
Second time through i went from Piken to Courthouse to Yaks Bend. Just curious as to what buggs the quest ?

You get the quest from his wife right outside Yaks bend... or at least thats where I got it. I too am running into the same problem. I will try to abandon the quest tonight and then redo it to see if it fixes the issue.

Oswalt appears directly beside his grave when you put the inscription on it.

However, I believe that when you just ignore him and leave the area, he won't respawn again. You may want to try clicking on his grave again, though.

Ok so I tested it. I abandoned the quest and then started over. After putting the inscription on the grave it took about 35-45 seconds before the ghost spawned. But he did spawn and I did complete the quest. So as Draconias stated, you need to inscribe the grave and then talk to the ghost... before you map out or run off.
