Hi

I'm thinking of creating a new character (roleplay), now that Takeko has finished the flameseeker prophecies section. But I'm not sure what combination would be the best. My ideas are as follows:

Ele/monk
Monk/ele

Obviously I want to have a go at a spellcaster, but I'm not sure what would be the best combination.

I was thinking that perhaps a primary elementalist would be useful for attacking, while the extra energy could help if I doubled up as a monk in PvP. Or would it be better to be a primary monk? (I'm not particularly interested in farming) I'd just like to hear what you think before I create a new character - don't want to ditch it because it "wasn't right".

What do you guys think?

Well from my limited experience - if you want to play an attacking nuking spellcaster then go E;lementalist primary. This is because you'll have more energy and be able to use elementalist runes to up your elementalist attributes - and if your using mainly elementalist spells, being able to up those attributes is better than if you were playing monk and could up attributes you weren't using.

Heh, I have to say my E/Mo with 10 in ES still runs out of energy way too fast in a heated fight. And stupid Claude is too busy BR'ing Stefan & Thom ... blah!

but seriously - you need to ask yourself.. what do you want to do..

- do you want to have uber healing / protection / smiting skills?
- do you want to blast things to bits with fire! Bwahahahahaha!?

I'm not sure on how much more energy an elementalist can get over a monk.. but it's in the order of ~50 more energy. And thing is, if your not healing.. then going Monk primary is a major, major waste of an attribute and limiting yourself because of lesser energy. Because if your not healing.. then Divine Favor = useless. If your going to be blasting things with elementalist spells.. better off being elementalist primary and going Energy Storage and getting that energy...

Or go N/E go Blood/Fire/Soul ... Blood is good for self healing (and does nice damage that armor doesn't reduce!), Fire for some nice damage & SR to get the energy back when critters die. altho it could be said that E/N is better again purely because of the fact they will have a whole lot more energy... but if your killing fast enough.. or using mobile energy batteries (ie Minions) then the fact you have less energy shouldn't matter as you'll be getting it back fast...

To be honest my 2 fav chars out of my 4 are my E/Mo & my N/mo .. E/Mo is amazing at how well she can blast groups of enemies to bits.. and N/Mo.. wheeee! talk about not having to worry about if Alesia can heal you or not.. hehehe.. since 3 out of my 4 main attack spells/skills heal me as well as deal damage that ignore's armor... (I carry 5 attack spells/skill, but only use 4 regularly..). Both chars kill a lot quicker and better than either my W/Mo or R/Mo do.. and seem to survive a lot better because of this.. heh

just my thoughts...

I would be happy to heal, but I do want to use attacking spells as well - probably more than healing. Sooo, that probably would mean I should be a primary elementalist. I'll see what my fellow guilders have to say.

Any other comments would be nice.
