I dont know if I like this idea. In beta, you could get what you needed from the skill trainers, I liked that, I dont like to have to do quests to get the skills I need. The skill trainer in ascalon is basically hopeless now. Do the other trainers have more skills?

Each skill trainer has skills that were available by quests in the previous area. Any skills you do not pick up in pre-searing is available in pos-searing + 1 or 2 extra (sometimes, depends on your class). Yacks bend has most of the skills that you can quest for in ascalon, and so on and so on. I think most people got most of the skills they were looking for by the time they reached LA. So essentially no the system has not changed. They just added more questing as an alternitive to going to skill trainers and saving your skill points.

I think this is an excellent change! Earning your skills is so much more rewarding than just buying them. Having the skills available at a trainer in the next area is probably ok, because going back to a low level area with zero xp kills and zero challenge just to do quests you missed is boring.

Makes it more fun to do certain small quests aswel, because now you get a skill as reward on top of the bit of exp.

and when you do the quests it's more fun to level aswel, if you'd juz walk around with the only purpose to kill monsters and level it'd get a bit boring.

I've just been playing to gain skills (by skill quests). I think it is great as I'd much rather do quests for skills then items, xp, or gold. Did they used to just give them away?

Before the release you bought skills from trainers. A way back, you could even gamble for skills.
I believe you still buy higher-level ones.
